Yesterday I went lunch with offis colleague. Female colleague take turn to drive us to lunch.

She drove a S70, so we wanted to go to this restaurant want to use waze.

Female driver you know la, blur.

She said she had trouble with her IHU have to use cable to connect to waze. Then she also said the app she use to download bagi her issue cannot work also. So altogether even use cable to connect her HP waze to IHU also got issue.

One of my Honda civic car no issue, I can use google/apple play connect waze saja, tapi ni kereta dun have.

Then asked her to use her Hp to waze. But she said her IHU blocked her HP signal cannot use waze. Since she failed downloaded the APP, everytime the car engine on and IHU switched on she cannot use her HP.

So in the end one of us had to use our own HP to waze for direction.

She said wanted to send to service center but must make full day appointment pulak, no time.

Technician there no time to ad hoc look at your car, unless she send for full service or she willing to send her car for full day appointment.

Ada apa solution?

Think in future, she can rest her car, rest of us take turn to drive our car for gang lunch.

sadder part is you cannot change the headunit for S70 because its linked to the car controls. So u end up with a crap IHU as long as your ownership

I am surprised, why would Potong not offer Android auto/apple car play? Their Sales team really not use brain la, seriously tanah gagal la. How to fight Vios and City ? price macam slighly cheaper by few thousand saja.

The IHU just show cartoon. Absolutely useless. I saw a map there, and asked her to use it, I think its Baidu. But she said that she don't want to pay more data to Potong.

S70 don't have Apple Carplay & Android Auto.
It is said to have that in the future update, just like the latest X70 facelift received Apple Carplay.

At the moment, proton IHU only support Mirror-link, which is old tech & not stable.

I suggest that driver use own phone for navigation (Google Maps/Waze), with phone holder.

Plug-in the USB cable for charging only at the bottom, next to 12V outlet, not DATA.

she tried to use cable last time to connect to IHU and download the app. But the app didn't work and since then, the IHU has given her a lot of trouble not able to use her handphone whenever she is inside the car.

All signal blocked. Watsapp, youtube, waze all cannot use.

Does it mean, this only happen to her phone? or only when she Plug-in the cable?
her phone 5G/4G data still work right without cable?

I guess the only modern car that the owners wont complain about the lack of carplay android auto and waze support is a Tesla

join the FB group S70, plenty of people can provide AA, ACP apps installation for some Ringgit. That include installation of Waze, Smart tube apps for those who want youtube on the HU.

same idea. never heard, if yes, sure many post in FB 24/7
