Hock Kee kind of expensive for muslim friendly food. average RM 20 per person for meh food quality

their food so-so oni lar....
but more expensive than Oriental

Old Town Kopitiam has been shitty for a long time

It was only good in the first few years when it started

Last time their only major competitor was PapaRich but PapaRich already chaplap

When they start to franchise, the quality starts to drop

rm29 for a plate of nasi lemak ayam, rm24 for bihun siam with ayam..

meanwhile my bihun siam with 2 hot dog rm4 at morning market..

chainis very rich

even when they have no competition.. their quality getting worse.

in fact when they should have evolved and improve their food.

these types of kopitiam can survive cause of singapork ppl dont mind to pay it and demand for food is high from them.

if it is sgd29 in their own city, you see the food can sell or not.

Its cause they sold it off to some non Malaysian company. This non-Malaysian company, want to max profit only.

Sometimes I don't understand Malaysian businessman. Susah susah start and grow own company, when company made it big, sell it off.

Small business pride themselves with heritage.

Big business only see profit and sell off for bigger profit elsewhere.

No, their food getting shittier and expansive.

Actually, they have become shitty even before sold to the foreign company. That’s why last time when the foreign company announced takeover, a lot of people say they are waterfish to the original owners.

The quality deteriorated when their toast began to get thinner and thinner. Their toast from the beginning are different and smaller but they started to slice the toast thinner until today some biscuits also more thicker than their toast.

Last time, their prices used to be ok. I remember they used to have RM5.99 for their toast, coffee and eggs set. Not cheap but still affordable for the better environment. Today it’s more than RM10.

Maybe they were already planning to sell it off, that why cut cost to present nice accounting figure to potential buyer.

Oriental Kopi their nasi lemak with L sized ayam berempah freaking delicious. Price a bit expensive but worth it. Also their egg tarts

南洋冰室 taste not bad also, cheaper than Oriental. But Oriental Nasi Lemak memang lawa.

i don't feel any difference between the food quality of old town and oriental kopi. The only difference between them is the presentation and hype, that's all
