There are a lot of Scams going on in the internet and via phone calls.
Many people are aware and been taught not to give out OTP in any occurrences.
But if Customer Service staff from legit telco line asking for OTP to verify customer's validity, whether to giver or not to give out OTP?
Is this wrong protocol or staff corrupted?
Depends how they ask for it I guess. From my experience they will send OTP to confirm then pass me through an automated system to verify my OTP and I will need to key in manually on my phone. After confirmation only they will route back my call to the CS. If they back verbally then I won’t give. So sus. Many people are aware and been taught not to give out OTP in any occurrences.
