Telco Customer Service ask for OTP, is it permited

There are a lot of Scams going on in the internet and via phone calls.
Many people are aware and been taught not to give out OTP in any occurrences. But if Customer Service staff from legit telco line asking for OTP to verify customer's validity, whether to giver or not to give out OTP? Is this wrong protocol or staff corrupted? |
