Hi I wanna buy sooka stick just for the 4k epl content.

I read that some people got the web version but face lagging issue during watching big matches (eg Liverpool vs Man Utd).

Anyone bought the stick and watch the 4k football content? I'm OK with the 1-2 mins delay but definitely not ok with lag since I paid for the service.

Thanks~!

I wish to know how's the tv stick experiences too. Any user here?
The stick itself supports 4K but I doubt the stream is in 4k as the premium subs without the stick is only in 1080P.

I just spoke with Sooka support on Facebook; they said that as long as we use the TV stick to stream content, we can access the Sports UHD channel. Well at least the bottom line is it's not 1080p...

So looking back to the tv stick plan, literally there's only one option tbh, which is the RM499 plan - included one year premium plan (before SST)... if you buy the stick only, it cost RM349 (before SST), so the monthly premium subscription is RM50.10 (after SST). two months then it's already RM100.20...

Yeah please drop a review after you received. I may switch to stick too after my current subs finished.

relek everyone. The stick hasn't reached my house yet, and all the other "VIP" channels are basically "discounted" Astro channels lol, resolution wise they're all 1080p on web and phone.

Anyway, epl starts next week. see you again.

I'm using it for 1 month already. So far, I'm satisfy with the stream quality. btw, i only stream it on my 1440p monitor.

But recently i experienced that there is a bug for the stick. At the home screen, it keep on refreshing the page until you can't select any content.

OK I have tried this weekend. First week watching Man Utd match.

Yea for UHD channel there's only one - Astro Sport UHD. It has all other Astro Sports channels in 1080p. I'm not sure if there's a time where we have two huge matches like Liverpool vs Man Utd, and Chelsea vs Arsenal at the same time. Probably they will unlock one extra UHD channel... I don't know... but compared to the local fanbase size, probably they won't have the Chelsea vs Arsenal if that happens lol...

My TV supports the 4K selection: 2160p, out of 1080p and 720p. All extended after-match highlights are available only in max 1080p. I think also got full matches replays. (correct me if I were wrong)

The UHD streaming is smooth. Using Time broadband 600mbps plan, 200mbps also still have plenty of room for 4k streaming.

However, 2 mins slower compared the real match time, which I don't like about it. It's frustrating if there's a big match at late night, you hear the crowd yelling outside, then only you watch the team scores after 2 mins...

Worth it or not? RM50/month for UHD 2-mins late live. I guess it's acceptable but not satisfied. Plus my gf can watch HK drama.

Also, this is just me hating to plugin external power supply to the small TV stick, as it is only providing 5V/1A... in 2024 TV should have USB-C input with thunderbolt protocol that can provide power to the external connected device... and it doesn't require external power input anymore... probably need to wait for another 5-8 years to get it popularized...

Value: 6.5/10 (that 2-mins delay potong steam)

Would just like to comment
Most "high end" PC Monitors do have USB C DisplayPorts with USB PD for charging connected laptops

Alas, don't think any TVs have that yet

And for most TVs the USB Port built in is limited in power unfortunately
So yeah, external brick is the only way for now.

On browser the delay is not that bad as there's a Live red button which shows you watching "live". I know this is not a real live but I think the delay is not as bad as 2 minutes. I'm sure about that coz there's time when there's a goal those friends in my chat group with Astro saw it around same time. If the stick is streaming with 2 minutes delay then really potong steam. Perhaps you can try the none UHD channel see how much the stream is delayed. If stil same I rather just get the package without stick.
