This is not because of battery. If the car is off and battery is removed, all the setting in memory will be lost. Those experience workshop will connect external battery first before removing the bad battery. Some will just keep engine running during battery swap. Some say it is bad for the car but I think no problem. Mine the battery shop just keep engine running and change battery. I decided to use battery for start stop even though I always switch the feature off, since it is not much difference for me.

as long as you buy the battery type meant for stop/start ok je, battery shop should know which one is the correct one

Start stop function will failed (not functioning) f car ECU detect low CCA during startup

Once u got fresh new battery start stop will resume as normal

Changing battery while engine still running will not reset factory start stop function though

Have to disconnect  battery

so if I buy m42 battery which is meant for start/stop from outside shop it should work just fine? Bcs I do see comments around like post #19 saying the function is lost after changing the batt?

Is there a way to quickly tell if battery needs replacement for car with start stop button?

Mine currently when I start the car the yellow A auto stop symbol will blink few times. From what I search people say this is 1 of the early sign of batt dying???

Function will remain the same.

difference is start/stop battery has higher capacity than normal battery and price is higher as well.

Perodua still uses wet battery and they last longer though.

Not really higher capacity per se, it's using a slightly better battery tech, EFB, but not as good as the AGM batteries used in hybrids.

To check if the battery is indeed degrading, just ask the battery shop to do a battery test.

This is what I don't understand, since it's the most useless feature in a modern car, then why are customers still buying vehicles with this feature in the first place ? It's like buying an overpriced model with this feature but then only to turn the feature off later. Wouldn't it be better to buy a Myvi without this feature at all ?

I think if you opt out of this, you don't get ADAS too. Last I remember, ss is available in AV variant jer.

I change my battery at Battery Hub just because it was the one near my house open on Sunday. I could not recall the name but it is a Korean battery. No problem and it is almost a year now. No need to reset anything or lost anything. Just make sure the engine is running during the battery change.

I'm not sure about the blinking but I think it is always like that.During start or just power on, it is just self-test routine to check every function is working fine. If one of the light did not go off, then it is fault indication. Logically why need to have the Auto On/Off light blink few times to indicate battery problem when you have battery light indicator which makes more sense to show battery problem? smile.gif
