Different gearbox tech got their pro & con

For dual clutch gearbox related, this is more suitable towards higher speed/performance driving thus why DSG gearbox are usually design for sport cars at first. If always stuck in traffic jam, those who driven dual clutch gearbox will know how struggle the gearbox feel when slow crawling and for VW case previously due to overheat & non suitable gear/mechatronic oil used make it worse and easy to stall.

Thus why you see majority of normal Japanese cars still stick with conventional 4AT/6AT or CVT gearbox as it is more suitable for normal traffic, low speed driving. For Japanese side, only those performance ride like Nissan R35, Mitsubishi EVO X used SST/DSG gearbox.

That's why NA with AT box is the best.

u will feel the jerk and not comfortable if crawl around traffic

sometime u want accelerate then he upshift

then sometime u slowing down keep downshift and jerking u

if really pure city drive + slow traffic ..CVT really more comfortable option

my benz 9Gtronic sometime pure city drive also got sohai logic ..comfort mode switch gear slow like sohai ..then if want accelerate suddenly drop 3 4 gear and jerk 9 u
if switch sport mode then keep downshift (and jerk) ready for u to vroom

but people complain sluggish and yes, it's also darn expensive
the only manufacturer that dares to put conventional auto into all of their cars are korean cars because they have a factory that makes their own AT gearbox
