At my condo group, we have heated discussion. On the main road outside the condo, it is 1 lane each way. However, idiots have parked their cars ON BOTH SIDES of the road. We can barely get one car through. They are parked dangerously at the bends and block vision of incoming traffic. Very dangerous and reckless.

Myself and other residents regularly report to DBKL. They come and issue saman, as they said that's the best they can do.

In the Whatsapp group, I asked them, if your unit has 1 car park, what makes you think you have a right to get more carpark. Since they blame DBKL didn't create any extra parking for them. They said wife got car, child got car. Bloody hell, not common sense that either you move out or manage with that one car?

This is not some PPR. It's a mid range condo. There's a higher-end condo next to mine, just the same bloody problem.

I understand people parking on housing areas, I think that's less on an issue. This is a farking main road. And those who park errantly despite DBKL ample signages, warning and saman, they are not repentant. They feel they are owed a parking and even wrote to DBKL to create a special carpark for them.

The development is fully private and costs >RM500k (older launch condo).

How can people have such lowly mentality?

Call police and ask them to saman too. Polis saman more painful. Older condos have lesser parking as in the past the authorities were more lax with requirements for building plan approval. Nowadays newer condos get more parking. My condo has ample parking and ample visitors parking but there are still tenants who park outside because it costs money to rent a parking from the management or other owners.

thats reason people buy 1m property yet not bang for buck, to separate them from those people.

well... am sure there are some vacant unit, and their owner willing to rent out the car park for a small fees ( rm 100+)?

so this can be solved, but just B40 mentality and wanna safe that small fees.

and yes- they shoudl have known how many car in the household before purchase the condo.

Request the local authority put on the sign "Tow car area", want them frequently patrol and clamp the car

That is why B40 or B60 exist , it is represent 40% or even more of the commoners mindset.

Arguing with them is a waste of energy, only thing you can do is earn more and move to a more atas place in future

just need a big lorry come rempuh some cars, people will learn and stay away.
my housing area now also some idiots come and park both side of the road till cars hardly can pass by when further up got place to park, these lazy people just dont want to walk
also sometimes they block the entire side lane as though it belongs to them. two cars completely block the lane.

Same like mamak stall, you find plenty of parking futher up but these axxhxxxx need to double park or triple park to block others when then can easily park further up and walk.

Many Malaysian are selfish people. really need to be taught a lesson.

minority always lose to majority.this is the fact which is obviously shown in local. once more and more people parking at roadside, it's will become a trend and you will get blame for being too annoying.
it's will never be their fault for parking at roadside, even it's blocking the road or causing any traffic jam, they will only blame why no free and NEARER parking is provided.

many got brain, just they choose not to use it only. education level is one of the factor, but one's personality play the important role.

Whenever I see people park outside main road for convenience while inside still can find parking, I feel like driving a tractor and bang them until hamjinbeng, not in real life but in GTA anyway.

My answer to OP is, selfishness. Everyone knows it's wrong and they are not dumb. Just fucking selfish and unfortunately we got a lot of shitty people in this country.

When I was in Tokyo, really can feel the difference in their mentality.

The authority needs to consistently working harder in issuing tickets. Make it a kpi of tickets to issue per month. Cats come, mice sure run. Come frequently.

Think outside the box, huge source of income can be generated via saman(not just gomen allocation).
Go for it.

Root cause lack to none or selective enforcement. Many receiving summons with a discount mindset, so tak kesah pun. Period
