My only bad experience with SLR is it's form factor. Bulky, heavy and very inconvenient. You just can't bring a SLR with you whenever you go. High end prosumer compact do the trick for me without compromising basic picture quality. Now using Ultra portable camera Nokia N73 full time for normal day to day image capturing and TZ7 as back up for good quality picture.

QUOTE(navilink @ May 31 2009, 02:00 PM) not really.. my friend climbs mountains and hunts waterfalls and cross stream all using dslr.. but of course now it's a bit rugged liao now.. Bringing a DSLR to the mountain or jungle is not a problem, the problem is when you need to wear the camera straps over your neck and move around for a long period of time say 2 to 3 hours. The frictions between the camera straps and your skin can cause a lot of discomfort. Also, DSLR is too bulky and not poketable, thus not suitable for day to day user like me. |

QUOTE(tplcaik @ Jun 9 2009, 12:08 AM) Why not you post your FZ28 picture in this shooting for comparison ?? Without comparison, it is impossible to judge which model is better. Bear in mind that the above picture was captured in 3mp only. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jun 10 2009, 10:23 AM |

QUOTE(Masamune @ Jun 11 2009, 11:30 PM) Hey is the FZ28 suitable for me? For normal every day usage, and know nothing about changing settings, buy TZ7. I'm a noob in cameras and i don't know how to change any settings etc.. But i see the website the price is just Rm1499.. Compared to FT1 and TZ7.. TZ7 have smaller form factor and wider angle than FZ28 TZ7 is the smallest PnS compact that capable of 21.4x zoom (in 3mp) and 25mm wide angle in the market. For prosumer, go for LX3 For pro, go for DSLR This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jun 12 2009, 11:01 AM |

QUOTE(shumaky @ Jun 14 2009, 09:58 AM) TZ7 is currently the only PnS compact camera in the market that capable of taking HD video with ZOOM. I can now just need to carry one piece of compact imaging device going places. My 2 months old Panasonic SDR-S26 camcorder with 33 months warranty is now up for sale. Anyone interested ? |

QUOTE(gwenchlan @ Jun 26 2009, 08:15 PM) hi everybody. RRP is RM1599 + 4 gb + case + 2 years warranty. You can get it cheaper at the shop after some bargain or you may try to contact this recommended online seller RM1350 + 4 gb + case + 2 years warranty + personalized home COD. I bought 3 items (SDR-S26, DMC-LX3, DMC-TZ7) from him already. I'm from france and I'm going to Malaysia on July 26 from 3 weeks. I would like to know what is the price of the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 in Malaysia? I don't know if it is most valuable to wait being in Kuala Lumpur to buy it or in Paris??? Can you please tell me the price of the TZ7? Here in france it is around 330€ what is about 1650 MYR. I really thank you by advance. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/672153 This post has been edited by aeiou228: Jun 26 2009, 08:36 PM |

QUOTE(suki @ Jun 29 2009, 04:45 PM) Just got a TZ7 last week. Would've chosen LX3, but it'll be used by whole family hence settled with something more idiot proof LX3 is a fully auto, idiot proof compact camera too. The only let down is the 2.5 x zoom vs TZ7 12x zoomSome questions to ask here... Any other slimmer casings to recommend? Coz the bundled Lumix one is just too bulky. And any 3rd party copy battery sold locally? Already planning to get another using the e-voucher (and still cost rm80+ QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Jun 29 2009, 07:42 PM) how much you got it? LYN seller selling RM1350.thinking of buying the camera too. hopefully it's not too bulky and easy to learn The form factor is just like any other compact camera. |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Aug 13 2009, 07:22 PM) Press the up cursor button once for exposure or twice for auto bracketing. Do you reckon we can use auto bracketing in TZ7 to process HDR picture ?Play with the left & right cursor for the individual values. Though very limited. Exposure setting and Auto Bracketing are better explained on page 47 of the manual. |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Aug 16 2009, 06:49 AM) Of course you could, that where your creativity comes in. Well, I guess majority of HDR pictures are motion less. For a handy general purpose PnS camera, I think TZ7 offers the best features in its class. I like its 12x zoom and AVCHD lite video recording and the super clear 3" LCD display the most. But as I have mentioned the auto bracketing is very limited. TZ7 doesn't perform well under low light conditions, not fast enough, thus the subject should be NON motion. |
