buying wet stock like fish and meat, rather have proper trunk like sedan car coz of the smell.

Where do you buy your wet food?

Mine are still fresh upon arriving back home from wet market, there is no smell 😅

SUV or Hatchbacks are fine for groceries, both wet or dry.
In addition, easier to fit bulky items like bicycles.

Nexus is definitely priced above Ativa as a full B-segment SUV (with higher ground clearance). Most buyers are actually waiting for the hybrid which is likely to br parked under Toyota badge possibly bringing the price over 100K.

The lower range P2 variants should remain competitive vs other brands like Honda WRV or the ridiculous DOA Hyundai Creta.

Do note that if Nexus comes with NA engine, you lose the addictive low rpm max 140Nm torque from the turbocharged Ativa perfect for city drives.

Also I couldn't get an accurate data for Nexus weight. This is important if the myvi 2nr-ve 1.5NA is used in conjunction with Daihatsu's DCVT that has a max 150Nm rating hence the engine torque cannot exceed 140Nm. Some P2 models using this engine/cvt combo
Myvi 1000kg - power ok
Alza 1150kg - 2 pax ok full load no power
Aruz 1300kg - with ancient 4AT, severely underpowered.

Considering your requirements, why not get an  EV? Perfect for town and occasional outstation trips..
I'm retired too and had an Ativa for 18 months... Changed to MG4 in April and can't be happier...

Maybe can wait for Proton EV also..

MG4 over 100K? Thats an additional 30K budget over Ativa AV or over 40% increase. Plenty of other options in that price bracket.

Any idea if P1 or P2 EVs be priced below 100K?
Thinking of getting a small EV with 500km range on the newer LFP batteries used by models like Dolphin. Preferbly with 8 yr battery warranty.

My 1st consideration was MG4, its still in the back burner. The car is a bit low, more sporty like. Wife has great difficulty getting in & out of low cars.

Just on this issue, which is a big one, since it would be everytime we wanted to go out, decided a SUV will be better suited.

Am also considering the Neta X, which is a bit large for my purpose. This being an SUV suits my requirement.

40% extra  cost is no problem for me. The question for me is it worth the additional 40%? My requirement will be purely city drive. As such EV may be better!

Ativa ticks all my boxes. Size, space is perfect. My only concern is the 3cyl engine. In time they become rough. 4cyl is always much smoother! Wear & tear is much higher on turbo than NAs!

After 1&1/2 year wait, i had enough of the Nexus. 2 weeks ago booked the new X50. Great performance  & size. Completely sold on the digital displays.
I had a good discussion about the Nexus on FB.  Concluded with the influx of the many chinese cars, Nexus may not come to Malaysia. Its going to be overpriced with outdated interior. Chinese models are changing this dynamic! The instrument displays are so very advanced.

Congrats.

Nexis now eta year end but look at the fascia..
