I recently won a lucky draw big prizes which is the kingston fury ssd and wanted to upgrade my rig that i built myself thanks to the sifu here few years ago.. So i wonder if my MB is able to use the newly ssd and if so, is there a simple way that i can transfer all my files into the new ssd without any problem?
My MB: Asrock b450m pro4 Current SSD: ADATA XPG SX8200 256GB Current HDD: 1TB HDD Seagate Window 10

My MB: Asrock b450m pro4 Current SSD: ADATA XPG SX8200 256GB Current HDD: 1TB HDD Seagate Window 10 I am guessing the Kingston Fury SSD is an NVME drive? U can just plug it into your motherboard 2nd nvme slot, tho it won't run at pcie4.0, for B450 motherboard usually the 2nd slot is from the chipset so most probably running at PCIE3.0. Then just partition it in windows and format it to use it. If it's me i would just leave your windows at ur current 256gb nvme, just transfer any files/doc/pictures/games from your current nvme into the new drive. U won't notice any difference from having your windows in a pcie3.0 or the newer pcie4.0 drive. My current gaming pc also still uses a pcie3.0 nvme as boot drive and windows drive.

Like this is fine ya?

Ya should be more than enough, my work PC use 256gb nvme boot drive set as single partition, i only install windows, drivers and all of my applications in it it and i still have around 130gb left.. All my work files, any other data and even games i put in a different drives depending on the data type (eg games in SSD & documents/app installer/videos/music in HDD.)

Boot into windows then right click my computer and select manage. Then select disk management and see if your computer detect the new nvme, if yes select the drive and create new partition and format it. after it all done you can transfer all your data then. Goodluck

Congrats on snagging that SSD! Your Asrock B450M Pro4 should work just fine with the Kingston Fury since it has the right M.2 slot for it. When it comes to transferring your files, I’ve had good luck with Macrium Reflect for cloning. Just connect the new SSD, fire up the software, and it’ll walk you through the process. I did this recently when I upgraded my setup, and it made the transition super smooth.
