I’ve been using UMobile Home Broadband for a while now, but I’m constantly experiencing slow speeds. Despite being on a higher-speed plan, my connection never seems to go above 30Mbps, regardless of the time of day or the number of devices connected. Here’s some info about my situation: Speed Test Results: Consistently around 30Mbps Troubleshooting: Restarted router, limited connected devices, tested at different times of the day I’ve contacted UMobile support, but they haven't provided a satisfactory resolution yet. Has anyone else faced this issue? What steps did you take to fix it, if any? Or should I be considering switching providers or canceling my contract?

Have u tried using the SIM in ur 5G phone and test? If putting in ur phone the speed is also like this, then most probably ur area coverage isn't so good. Oh try moving the router near a window too see if it helps. I am using their Uhome 5G plan also, so far still good, using their crappy router speed is like stuck at 100mbps, but when used with my Tplink NX510v router the speed is around 250-300mbps.

You should first try out the sim in a mobile phone to determine the best signal location in your house by speed test and turn put the router there. If the best signal location is not the place where you want to use the broadband, then you use another router to extend the coverage within the house using Ethernet cable and 5GHz wifi.

My house only have 4G, x ada 5G. so when it's 5G it was like 20Mbps.

First of all, dont place the router in a corner or middle of the house. 5G signal does not penetrate wall very well. Try to move the router next to a window and try again.

They signed 4g tower sharing with both maxis and celcom but not sure how fast. My area 4g is below 100Mbps but I cant remember how fast liao. 5G is a lot better between 100-350Mbps.

QUOTE(p0wer2003 @ Oct 18 2024, 11:29 PM) My router is the latest 5G WiFi 6 Is it the bundled Uhome 5G router? If yes then it's kinda crappy for both model especially the Kaon one, even tho both are Wifi6 and 5G support. If your place is strictly 4G, expect the best situation u can get around 30+ mbps, if it's 4G+, with some luck it could go up about 70-90mbps..

Sounds like you did not do your home work before embarking on using the Umobile Home 5G. I would recommend this "home work" for people who are considering Umobile Home 5G :- 1. Get a sim card capable of 5G and a phone capable of 5G. 2. Check everywhere in the house for connection speed. 3. If can't find a good spot with good 5G in the house and not willing to install external antenna, abort the idea of using 5G. Only if satisfied with 2, then can consider using 5G.

QUOTE(p0wer2003 @ Oct 22 2024, 12:04 PM) that's true however anyone have experience like convert 5G wifi to landline before? because when rain, no signal here even 4G+. changed from u home plan to unifi fibre rahmah plan for my parents house. wanted to test water with u home plan first, so i get the sim plan only with no contract (got my own 4G router). speed is almost non-existent during night time probably due to congestion and no 5G coverage yet at that time, so i decided to cancel the u home plan and subscribe unifi rahmah plan at the same price. right now 30mbps stable day and night.

If you getting ZTE MC888s modem, try this tricks: Open browser and login to modem ip
First you need to turn off the internet with the toggle button next to the 4G+.
Then you click Setting, network setting... change network to 5G NSA.
