Hangzhou R&D using existing old Savvy platform to develop new Saga sedan, hatchback & perhaps Crossover

With a new Geely 1.5L NA engine & CVT transmission, rumours are this 2026 saga will replace the old saga, iriz & persona in one go. Actually Geely already have existing 1.5L engines such as the one used in Emgrand JLC-4G15B 1.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 with 114 hp output but a newer one might materialise.

As to whether the incoming Proton e.Mas EV will also intergrate into this new Saga needs to be considered from an affordability viewpoint.

The PIES vehicles are very old. To develop a new platform cost millions. Can't keep facelift the old models

Latest Axia, Bezza AV already touching 50K. Myvi 1.5 already almost 60K. If Proton consolidate Saga and Persona into sedan and hatchback model likely can price competitive enough to challenge.

The existing models are just too old

Saga is 4AT, the other 2 still punch cvt but recalibrated by Geely engineers end 2021 become better.

Campro phased out quite a while back.
