Hangzhou R&D using existing old Savvy platform to develop new Saga sedan, hatchback & perhaps Crossover



With a new Geely 1.5L NA engine & CVT transmission, rumours are this 2026 saga will replace the old saga, iriz & persona in one go. Actually Geely already have existing 1.5L engines such as the one used in Emgrand JLC-4G15B 1.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 with 114 hp output but a newer one might materialise.

As to whether the incoming Proton e.Mas EV will also intergrate into this new Saga needs to be considered from an affordability viewpoint.

20 years before savvy platform was first saga

Now saga also need buy 2 one for spare parts? 😂

Meaning they eliminate all 3 original proton model and change it to a ccp based car? Need to sark ccp so hard? R&d also need ccp do?

Why use Savvy platform and not Iriz/Persona platform?

Can stick to P2 mah..

YouTube shows Proton R&D center in Hangzhou. No idea who is manning it.

The PIES vehicles are very old. To develop a new platform cost millions. Can't keep facelift the old models

That means the next upcoming Saga will become more expensive

Perodua will have more sales for budget car

Can see it from this way, if previous production of each type is 50k units. Total 150k. Now they direct make 150k units to fulfill all 3 types.

Production cost also save edi and no need extra costing to design others

yes la milo tin keep selling well

my advice?
buy the current saga before they change

I wonder if it safe if i drive this car all the way to Laos. Sked car got problem & I stuck there.
