so many pups how u gonna breed them to test? breed every single one? canot be right...

never simply just claim its Lt, Lt = ch gene. if u want to prove that, u need to breed him/her with a chch gerbil. then u can comfirm is ur agouti is carrying a ch gene. if u pair with a Cch gerbil.. u will hv to test for a few litter to so call comfirm his/her gene. cos u never know if the 'prove' pup is not out yet.

again.. pairing ur deh n agouti = will only give u more agouti n black.. unless u ur agouti is carrying Ee gene. means either one of his parents are a ee carrier.

the color lighter or darker of a gerbil, can be effect on nutrition, genetic (color tone from parents), and their recessive gene.

if ur friend can tell u his gerbil is lt deh, he should able to tell u the gene n parantage...

u hv to read more about genetic. if not u will only keep turning n turing in agouti n black

yes LC-Vit is very good there is an other one coat shine also.. ur gerbil will give u nice nice fur...

better u mix LC-Vit n Coat Shine. Calci-Aid feed differenly. also only supplement calci-aid maxi3 times a week

the teeth grow is difference. about 2 weeks then u need to check n trim. and also keep an eye make sure they eating..

more than 5mm or u realise they canot eat.

I'm planning to get gerbils.But i've got a few questions,please help me out. Thanks in advance.

1. Should I still use the cat litter as bedding? I read crazymouse's post on homeapet.com that they won't like it.
not all cat litter can be use. Breeder Celect is a very good bedding to use. and they love it. they will chew up all of them then become soft soft.. all my gerbils use it.

2. And I have cats(they do their business outdoors)...Will the gerbils get agitated with cats around the house?
always keep ur pets clean. we canot really answer this question. cos i not sure how clean or dirty is outside ur house , anyway make sure ur gerbil tank is close tightly. cat is very smart to oepn cover

3. Can I use a storage box instead of a plastic tank?
i personally don't like storage box. cos pity the animal canot see anything outside the box.

4. Any specific temperature conditions? (The place I'm planning to put them gets quite warm during the afternoon with the windows open)
quite warm is how warm? don't put the under direct sunlight. if its in a room, pls open the door n windows.

5. What's the difference between bedding and hay? What are they used for?
bedding is to absort pee, hay is for them to chew to make their little nest.

6. Will gerbils of different age get along fine?
it depance on the temp of the gerbils. some can be stay together after intro. some is too aggressive even seperate with split cage. anyway intro is aways needed.

overgrow teeth?? u better trim it asap. if not up or bottom teeth my break n if they lost either side. u will need to syringe feed them forever. if u know how to trim them u can do it urself. if not get a vet to help. if u near to pet shack also i can help u there.

other than dr yeoh or hand n paws. i not sure if others vet really can handle small animal well. if anything u can either call or sms me

but u need to do it ASAP cos their teeth may break or lost, n never grow back. possible u go to new by pharmacy to get a syringe wiht out needle one? or go get some oat for the gerbil 1st.

Rodents teeth is always growing. that is why they need to chew alot. n its normal to hv over grown teeth problem. some fela don't chew alot may hv tetth problem.

u go super market, look for roll oat, get organic vege powder, mix with it. then syringe feed them, u can trimp urself i u can handle.make sure don't injurt them
