QUOTE(rishi690 @ Sep 12 2024, 09:36 AM)
The intention is good but done in a hurry without awareness creation to public. Those who don't understand DNS redirection, shouldn't talk about the impact. The intention is to block websites that promote violence, terrorism, or illegal activities. By using DNS redirection, the government also can protect users from phishing sites or malware by redirecting them away from harmful content. The above statement above losing billions from DNS redirection is not accurate.
*
Explain this

I am using AdGuard DNS to block ads & prawn from my family internet. Previously the government blocked the DNS (which ADGuard DNS were one of the affected servers) and my adblocking shield is broken and i see ads pop out everywhere. So how the hell can the government protect me if my family members accidentally pressed on the ads?

If you wanna support the government movement, be my guest, i am not going to argue with you, but i am making a clear statement that blocking DNS blindly is an utter stupid move.

EDIT:

I just done with the family part, now i am getting on the corporate part. My company uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify no one spam our corporate website and thanks to the not so intelligence government move, I have problem logging to the Cloudflare from MALAYSIA unless I VPN to my another remote office in Thailand just to gain access to CloudFlare. So tell me is this intention good or just a pure baboon's jobs? It is affecting everyone that is using the DNS for good intention/work related.

yes, stock TM DNS allows more porn and ads than PFblocker and family.cloudflare-dns combo

BladeRider88, I think he just ghost you after giving you a like. LOL
What kind of "system engineer" fucked up so badly, come here to say we all don't know anything about DNS poisoning / DNS hijacking / BGP hijacking.
Then proceed to say he deserve to be given credit.

None of our telco have DNSSEC, so I am not even sure what kind of "cyber security" he did.

first off the road to hell is paved with good intentions

secondly, family.cloudflare-dns did a way better job blocking adult sites than TM, so that argument is invalid. if their intentions was indeed true, to block porn, they would have left that family safe dns alone, but we all know what actually happened last Friday.

I'm more interested in the actual issues they are covering up using the DNS redirect issue.

Yes, I think the whole DNS thing is a distraction. Distract us from Madani's failure to reform the economy.
