This new gold AMEX credit card is not issued by Maybank? From the attached picture, it doesn't carry the Maybank logo nor the blue AMEX emblem.
What's the difference compared to Maybank AMEX conventional gold credit card? This new gold AMEX credit card won't be earning TP from MBB; only MR from AMEX? |

Yes, they're.
One from Maybank and carrying Maybank name. You'll earn only TP. The other from AMEX but issued by Maybank. You'll earn MR. This makes the newer Amex gold credit card from AMEX is more attractive! |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jun 16 2009, 11:17 PM) Your charge card could earn 8x MR till mid-July provided you have registered for it. After that you could switch to this new gold credit card to earn 5x MR since it's a permanent feature. As for me, I don't think that I'm going to apply for it since I got Ikhwan AMEX and the points that I'm collecting is TP and not MR; makes no difference to me. |

I browsed through the application form just now and it's so simple with just one page.
Last time when I applied for Ikhwan AMEX, the application form takes up to 3 to 4 pages! |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jun 16 2009, 11:38 PM) But the 5x is MR not TP. You have to remember that. MR and TP are not the same.QUOTE(zenquix @ Jun 16 2009, 11:38 PM) Which points are more attractive? TP or MR? It depends on how you look it. For me, I have other cards from MBB that are earning TP and therefore, personally, I think TP is more suitable for me. I don't have MR and if I want to venture to MR, I have to start from zero again. Am thinking of applying an Amex during the treats fair next month. Besides, MR and TP have different rewards (stuffs) to be redeemed for; meaning different catalogue. This post has been edited by David83: Jun 16 2009, 11:45 PM |

QUOTE(Dozz @ Jun 16 2009, 11:47 PM) That could be true as well but still personal preference. For those who have established with MR, they're more comfortable with MR and vice verse. This post has been edited by David83: Jun 16 2009, 11:50 PM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 19 2009, 07:39 PM) Ok back to AMEX topic but on CC. Guess they may just charge RM 5 for the printed statement.I applied for the AMEX Gold CC today. Went to Maybank branch to drop my cheque for my charged card and picked up the application form for Gold CC but did not fill the form on the spot since wanted to get my wife a supp. Then read in CC thread that one needs to have Maybank account, this was not stated in the application form nor was it in the AMEX's website but was stated in Maybank's website. So I called this number 603-22958877 and they confirmed don't have to be a maybank account holder and I can just fax the application form to them with just a photocopy of my credit cards and no need submit the other troublesome documents. Faxed in the application to AMEX about lunch time. Wonder how long it takes to get it approved and want to see if the credit limit given to me will me higher or lower than my Charged Card (oh yes, there is a credit limit for charged card too). My guess to have an account with MBB is to have access to M2U to view the statement online since AMEX Gold CC by default as advertised in M2U won't be providing printed statement. |

Even though, it's a winner but Ikhwan still suits me for the mean time.
Reason is Ikhwan on TP, the new AMEX Gold is on MR. |

QUOTE(tgeoklin @ Jun 29 2009, 07:57 AM) For TM or TNB, only option is direct debit by the company concerned to your Amex card, which can be arranged via Amex's office For TM bills, you can do it online at TM website. Download the form, fill it and fax back to the designated number. For TNB, you need to do with AMEX or MBB. |
