I never been to US la. I just check the price on the internet and ring the hotel. No room available. I ring AMEX, and ask them to book at the same hotel, the same day, in 15 minutes they ring me back and have room available for me. For the price, i still get the same price as per internet rate. Where did you book the hotel ? Maybe it's vary depend on hotels ?

This not only pleases those who always pay minimum, but also benefits people who make payment promptly like us. I got a 3-month interest free when I got my Alliance cc early this year. I reserved the fund in the FD and earned some interest for that tenure. You may think the interest is peanut but if you make big purchase, a few hundred RM of interest is better than nothing. tongue.gif
Mind to share how did you manage to get AF waiver for your Centurion Black card? Or is it a new card and the bank gives you free for the 1st 3 years?

It's supplementary card. Therefore no AF. I'm not that rich lor..

@vampbreak,
Er.. U never been to the US but U called and ask to make a hotel reservation? hMm.. I'm surprised the rates are as good as that of the internet - well at least now that's an option or avenue.  I could always give it a try but am not travelling for the next few months.

*
I just try the concierge service when I first get my black card. My principal card holder give a go ask me to try it drool.gif We pick US hotel for testing because it was appear in the Black Ink magazine and its look cool!! icon_idea.gif

You have taste and lucky got plat card as well. Their priority reservations will ensure you get the best seats at the house. I have to say Cirque Du Soleil was fabulous but did not managed to catch Zumanity. Too bad Celion Dion stint's now over. Damn good and better than the BD/DVD copy now on sale. Another to recommend is the Bluesman Show.

Make your date and enjoy yrself  tongue.gif

hEHehhe.. well, Amex has been pretty lenient; the last time I needed additional CL they gave me RM50k when I called them - and that was enough to tie me over.  Also, I don't have a habit of using my CC when I'm abroad, usually go cash biggrin.gif

Vegas.. Yes.. I think I'll die with all those performances there.. been waiting to catch Cirque Du Soleil's O & Zumanity!! muAhahAHahHAHA biggrin.gif

No reason for Amex Australia to give me an Australian issued card since I'm not based there.

Er.. Yes S&A and U shouldn't believe what others mention about me on other threads smile.gif  I do drive a well maintained car but definitely not an MPV and definitely NOT hitting middle age yet lah.. mana ada so old?! tongue.gif [what defines middle age btw?!]

@vampbreak,
OOh! I thought you're back in KL tongue.gif  Sydney isn't on the agenda at the moment though I do intend to drop by pending time availability - will call on U then if we're still in touch biggrin.gif

No problem. I belanja you cappuccino dekat starbuck with my black card. As usual the the counter girl will say "Ni Kad Ape Ni Encik? Tak Pernah Tengok Pun. Thanks dear, for the clarification. My apologies for any misunderstanding. But back on track, its not essential for black card holder to be domicile anywhere since the world your home, so why restrict yourself to any country, right?

Actually, by today's standard middle age is pretty subjective but if its any consolation, I am probably defined as a dinosaur when so benchmarked  sad.gif

Never mind middle age, dinosaur or reptile. As long as look like Megan Fox and dint drive MPV laugh.gif

You haf a point but unlike some people, I rather not get stuck holding a Centurion and having to pay loads of AF cause the $ for the AF can be used for something else; for example the trip to Vegas perhaps *shrugs*

Ah well.. I think we're probably in the same age group, or if not, at least in the same generation

I'm working worldwide. Currently I was in Australia. More than 2 years now. I go back to MY every 6 month. I apply JustOne card with fax. I use my address in MY for the application. And since they cannot contact me with my maxis no, that why they declined the application. Hope you are crystal clear now  : biggrin.gif

@Gen-X,
It's ok.. I've loads of friends in your age group too!  Ah well... I was kinda mean to "ahem" (thank God he hasn't found this thread or we'll haf no peace and quiet here!) and starting reporting a couple of his threads  whistling.gif  Anyhow let us know how Zumanity was; speaking of which, have U checked out what the Cirque discounts are for Amex cardholders?  Perhaps U could get our friend with the Centurion card to check with the Concierge Services for U?!  laugh.gif

Ahehe. What to do. English not so good. I apply for JustOne because I don't have any mastercard cc. SCB is nearby my parents house in MY so convenient to pay my bill. I have no intention of having so many cc like you and our friends.. tongue.gif

Also, we've discussed it at lengths here that the benefits aren't worth RM2k and most of us are just too cheapskate to even want to pay the RM2k! I know for a fact I wouldn't.

Tinkerbell, that why I ask if anyone here holding that card. smile.gif

Anyway, something I want to share with you guys. I book my flight ticket to Malaysia with concierge service today plus an accommodation for 3 days in KL. They give me 15% off if I stay on their listed hotel or 5% discount on other hotel. Transit limo from KLIA to KL is complimentary. I read previously that someone mention about extra charge on concierge service and I hope this can make it clear.

If anyone experience something different, please share. smile.gif

I don't think anyone mentioned extra charges; we just said things booked through Concierge Services may be more expensive but we're not too sure.

Perhaps, let us know which hotel you've booked urself into and we'll do a comparison to costs - will also need to have check-in and check-out dates & room category booked into biggrin.gif  I'll call the hotel and check for rates then biggrin.gif

Btw U coming back from Sydney?  When?
