QUOTE(jonthebaptist @ Aug 24 2024, 11:05 AM) What we can learn from this is Gov should probably stop using brick tiles for walkways or roads, they look fancy but are anything from safe. When sink hole formed it should have been addressed the leak before refill. This probably wasn't done first time hence the second time again it formedIf a sinkhole forms you won't know until it's too late like what happened to this lady and her family. I'm not an expert here but I think something like Tar road would atleast show some early signs of sinkhole formation and the authorities can act fast from public complaints when they see it. But with brick tiles like this Infront masjid India, how to know what's going underneath the ground? |

If you know sewer stations got many lift stations due to changing topography, gravity is your friend, the plan is to always use gravity to gather the sewage into one giant underground well and then pump up to treatment plant.
If the victim ended in one of those normally is sink first before decomp and float back up , however it's still not easy to recover if assuming is not being held down by the pump suction already This post has been edited by rcracer: Aug 26 2024, 10:09 AM |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Aug 26 2024, 10:42 AM) There is no lift station between where she fell and pantai dalam. Its gravity all the way with extremely strong flow. Just that she might be caught along the way as the amount of rubbish in our sewers is no joke... Then flushing as they said until reach pantai but that night already heavy water flow also didn't flush so not guaranteed |

Malay mail reported IWK will start high pressure jetting liao, if really is victim, well not much will be left
“Indah Water Konsortium will break up the debris (blockage) using a jetter (sewer jet machine) in the manhole path of the incident location to the manhole downstream over a distance of 69 metres,” according to the statement. Earlier, IWK had carried out ‘flushing’ work in the fifth manhole late last night until 2 this morning but did not find any clues. This post has been edited by rcracer: Aug 26 2024, 04:55 PM |
