NEWSUPDATE: KL Sinkhole Rescue Operation Gets Tougher as Strong Water Current Appears Underground

The turbulent water flow that appears in the 8-meter-deep hole has increased the difficulty of the authorities’ search and rescue. Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that the authorities hope to find the trapped woman before dark, and promised that the mission will not be terminated until the person is found, reported 8TV News.

Unfortunately, the authorities cannot ask Indah Water to shut down the drainage system as this may cause flood and worsen the situation in the surrounding areas.

“We hope to find her before nighttime and hopefully, she is still alive,” said Datuk Rusdi.

Horrible reporting on this incident by our media. Maybe they are not given access to the sink hole to get first hand view or provided with  details if there are other utilities running under the road level. I have a feeling this is above a utility conduit running underneath.

Very unlikely got blue print lah, so many infra are build over the decades no department has entire overview of everything after so many decades of build, rebuild and tambah build.

This indian national lady took the bullet for many other potential passerby that could fall into it and get the same fate..

I wonder if they made a mistake? They opened the sewer gates at night but they only continued the search the next morning. The body don't know flow go where already? Maybe at the bottom of a lake?

I remember one case, one uncle drove into a sinkhole and died, happen probably in PJ or Cheras, long time ago.

Saw this news and I'm surprised with the headlines because I don't see any blame game happening. What I see is an organised concerted and tireless effort in the search and rescue mission.

Did any of you see any blame game happening? Minister of Communications should discipline such outlets/reporting for fake news.
