Hey readers,

I am considering buying either psp or ds. But i cant seem to make up my mind. Hopefully you all can give me your views on the pros and cons on both consoles. If possible, could you give me a price analysis between both of them too? Thank you. biggrin.gif

DS.... Games are nice, has more replay value, loads and loads of fun games, the graphics for games are good, maybe not certain 3d games but psp definitely has a better screen.. The games are really innovative too, a departure from traditional button pressing.. Some games make use of the mic, stylus.. Very innovative..

PSP are more versatile in many ways...
you can Play game that look like PC (did i mention almost), the graphic are superb ex: god of wars
u can surf internet at any Wifi free area, stream radio from internet watch youtube streaming live chatting.
also Psp can act as your mp3 player and watch movie in wide screen. this is high end user preference (ekekekekeek dun flame me)

VS

NDS well the game are more to replay value kind like old 8 bit game with enhance graphics, dual screen with touch screen,
u can also surf internet but need extra accesorries.. game title well if you surf google u understand which category it fall too.
if u wan something snappy NDS is ur answer.

This is is a repeated question and people tent to answer differently
If u post this question in the ds post u get this kind of answer:
Solution 1
If u post it in the general consoles, u get this:
Solution 2
and if u post it in the psp section u get this:
Solution 3
and for me i get them both. Problem solve rclxms.gif

go to the shop n ask for more.
hold both psp n DS
For me i'll feel psp got more quality. DS console is like so plasticky, buttons not solid, screen so small.. make me feel that im not willing to throw the money on such portable console if compare to psp.
Appearance sure sony leet. Also got bright future for psp. Sure nintendo's games are fun. But definately wont suprise me with the kids' graphic.

i laugh.gif at this thread..
posting a comparison on either sub forum=biased views.
best thing is to find gamers with either console, and have already maxed out(or atleast knows more about the console) it's capabilities.

seriously, comparing the official range of features and unofficial range,is like comparing heaven and earth(not so sure about the NDS,but sure is true with the PSP)

LOL..Asking this in a Playstation Section is definitely giving you one answer only.

Anyway, i would go for PSP as well. Played both DS and PSP before, i would still stick to PSP. Games on PSP is nicer than the DS for me..

Well, maybe because i liked the games on the PSP..Therefore, the reason for you to pick a console - Find the game you would like to play most and get that specific console that supports it...

depends wht u are looking for...if u want innovative and casual gaming, go for nds...if u want graphics and intense games, go for psp...psp is like a portable ps2 of sorts...

i bought psp but it didn't suit me due to time consuming as well as heavy games...sold it and bought nds and haven't put down my nds yet...all the games are innovative and casual enuff for a gamer like me who just wants something to pass time every now and then...

this tread has no conclusion, it's similar with :

PSP vs NDS
XBOX360 vs PS3

rclxub.gif just buy according to yr personal preference n make yr own decision. if you've the money buy both .. else buy the one you favor the most .

Rather than playing a DS based on your conclusion, you're also saying that 'it's better to own a Wii rather than an NDS'.

There is something NDS cannot do which the PSP can: homebrew. PSP has the largest homebrew community ever. Which type of console that can emulate from Gameboy to N64 to MAME without external hardware?

sorry dude,but that's just ridiculous. doh.gif

what you're looking at is their graphical capability(more than anything else)

the DS has things the PSP doesnt, mainly the touch screen.

on paper,it doesnt seem so fantastic, but in reality, touch screen can be a breath of fresh air

well, psp are more to high end handheld graphics, well... most of the game, how to say this, only be easily played if the player played game alot.
an inexperience player would have lots of problem asking how to play this and that. well, it's just my opinion as it happen alot to my friends who don't play games alot.

while for the ds, it's kinda friendly kinda of game, u do see hardcore game on DS but seldom u do see 1 coz nintendo are mostly off to more friendly and party kinda game. and it's easy to get used to the new style of gaming.

either, it's ur choice but i would prefer u to get both of em if you can afford though. I prefer something light and quick during im playing game outside. Something like i can just switch on and off w/o worrying about the save as some games on ds are just "play for fun".

PSP and NDS lite both are good game console.
But for game (innovative), i personally vote for NDS

Now, i also interested in another underdog game console GP2X which is open source but far less game supported

I own a PSP and i think NDS are better for gaming. (But i still love my PSP !)
PSP games are mostly ported or repeating the same concept, so it's quite boring..

While NDS have more creative and innovative in games. (Games ! Im not talking about the touchscreen !)
Put hardware aside, look only at the games. (Great games does not require very good graphic)

EG: Wii vs PS3, look at the award won by Wii compared to PS3.

I've a friend who bought DS because he has been a fan of Nintendo since young and he said because of loyalty to the brand. I've had my share of Nintendos back when I was young but I still prefer the PSP; it rocks my world now. My brother has a DS and I've gamed on it before however for myself, it's still my PSP.

I guess at the end of day, it's our own preferences.

I bought my NDS last year and I bought the PSP Slim this year. Kinda feel great to have both.

I use DS for mind training, especially for Ambidextrous Training and PSP for 3D game like Disgaea (my fav. since Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories on PS2).

I have PSP Slim now, just bought it about 2 weeks plus back... I'm really happy for it. biggrin.gif
Just paid for a used set of NDSL... So, I'll be having 2 consoles. biggrin.gif

I'll test out both consoles. I really don't know how to divide my time for these two consoles, equally. sweat.gif If I only focus on one, mum and sister will nag me for wasting money of getting those two consoles, now scare already. sweat.gif ohmy.gif icon_question.gif

Hmm i also need to think to get psp or nintendo DS. It seems there alot of games options for psp but once i played my friend's DS and i was addicted to Elite Beat Agents.

Hmmm....... imagine if i put decals inside, which one will look cooler? hmm.gif

Well actually quite simple, PSP in my opinion is loved by almost everyone who is a hardcore handheld gamer. Nintendo DS on the other hand, well not many would like it but if you do appreciate their games especially those interactive ones with touchscreen function like what you mentioned Elite Beat Agents, you are going to love the DS too.
