Yesterday (20/8/24) received an activation key from ARAMEX around 2:04am and then today (21/8/24) received verification code from Disney + Hotstar around 6:13am.
I suspect my phone got hacked or someone using my mobile phone number for something.
Anyone got any suggestion how to handle this?

QUOTE(ZerOne01 @ Aug 21 2024, 09:37 AM) Had the same case but with my email instead. Asked them to remove the account rlly fck up . I suspect it got worse cause I am using CelcomDigi and they partnered with disney hotstar. My unbilled amount jumped from RM 90+ to RM 160+, suspect is an add on content.

QUOTE(Taikor.Taikun @ Aug 21 2024, 10:31 AM) this is like someone spoofed or cloned your phone number. The only other way I see this happening is to terminate the number.

Conclusion: I have used Bitdefender, TrendMicro and Spyware detector (all downloaded from GooglePlay) to scan for malware and spyware, nothing cropped up.
Although the there are several attempts requesting verification/activation code/account opening (ARAMEX, Disney Hotstar, Shoopee and Lazada) and last an attempt to attack my whatapp.
It looks like they may have my personal information (from those many many many data leaks Malaysia is famous for) but they are unable to complete the final mile i.e. 2 factor authentication, password recover, obtain OTP.
Also, all this happened recently, I got a new scam caller offering stock tips: number is +1 6503324931 / +1320 52 9700 . Normally, I pick up and play silent mode just to screw with these scammers.
Somehow or rather, they decided to play reverse Uno and harass me with calls and OTP request.

QUOTE(jmas @ Aug 21 2024, 04:00 PM) this is actually my 1st thought reading thru this thread someone being too free/vindictive but carefully read thru all email/message, can be covering whatever they really doing with your info. I know right, scammer being vindictive cause I wasted his time. Jeez, get a life! Anyway reported the number to truecaller but i suspect they are probably using VOIP, some tech that enable to spoof numbers.

QUOTE(Hobbez @ Aug 21 2024, 05:03 PM) Truecaller is the one siphoning your data and all the numbers on your phone contact list and selling/giving it away. Could be true but ultimately just look at Malaysia alone how many data breaches by private and gov, you already know.
