buy a Manfrotto lo..

Nothing wrong with it... I started from a cheap tripod too, although I will admit it's kind of shameful as to how Nikon just stuck their name on it. The only reason why I bought my little thief basher is because sometimes it gets really windy here and I don't trust a cheap tripod enough to carry the cam + lens + flash.

Anyway, let's jump to a brand new episode of poison time!



Should be similar to what Xandman has, with a slightly different quick release plate... well worth the money

yup...
mine is same as skyther...except the plate is rc4..square plate...
so far how found no valid reason tu upgrade to a carbon fiber tripod...
this manfrotto very stable d for me...
if one day i need to upgrade...it'd be the gitzo basalt series...which cost like crazy!

I'm not into Benro, Gizto or Manfrotto yet, I'm very satisfied myself with a cheap Manfrotto imitation tripod, Victory!

its seems the poison isnt affect me much

Hahaha, luckily all shops here din sell any expensive tripod like Manfrotto or Benro, just got those cheap cheap one like Victory and Sakure only!

Go check the price of your wanting to buy list at ShaShinKi.com, its a very good site for price references! Dun worry, all VR lenses can be used on D40! Refer to the first page of this thread to be sure on which lenses can AF on D40!
