QUOTE(Darkcursed @ Mar 17 2008, 02:06 PM) yeah, both of it really important!slowly lah, budget tight.hehe. 1.my best interest is landscape photo, and city night photo as well. 2.when i go out for landscape shooting,i would take a tripod if i have one,as i don't wanna blame my shakey hand later on. i guess i would settle for a tripod,i was afraid i would regret not to get a lenses instead. well i used to own 55-200VR... but largely underused...only found tat i like landscape more after i bought it it is a vr good lens...sharp, good bokeh too haha think i confuse u more than help u...

no pricing yet coz it just anounced... even Sigma own website yet to publish anythg on it... Sigma 30mm f1.4 cost around 1.4k... so i doubt this will be much less if not more expensive...

QUOTE(edministrator @ Mar 18 2008, 06:24 PM) haha... looks like our investment would mainly be on lenses. currently i m still alright with D40. at least next time when changing body, all the nice lens still can be used. 50mm HSM is like a dream come true, waited so long for nikkor's until now no news eh... ya...must get a decent lens so tat in future can be used with upgraded body

QUOTE(TheVoIP @ Mar 18 2008, 07:26 PM) It will be below RM1k... because it is jsut a 3rd party lense... I am guessing between RM700 to RM850 la Sigma own 50mm f2.8 selling for +-rm800... so i would disagree with u Added on March 18, 2008, 8:55 pmQUOTE(orenzai @ Mar 18 2008, 08:11 PM) how bout besides low light? coz its like you have to move around to get the right crop for yr photo..wont that be troublesome? well...when u see d bokeh it produce...then u know its worth d moving around This post has been edited by szyap: Mar 18 2008, 08:55 PM

QUOTE(zio @ Mar 21 2008, 01:15 PM) Well, if you are considering the D60 or the D40x, it is recommended to go for the D60. It is a replacement model of the D40x after all. So, if its cheaper, even better ya i agree too... but i wonder why is it cheaper? shashinki din update their price gua?

QUOTE(BlueSilver @ Mar 23 2008, 06:04 PM) do you guys usually take pictures with flash on? I know this is a silly question cos when the place is dark of course you use flash. But i don't quite like to use flash especially with yellow lighting. Cos there would either be reflections or it's too white maybe? But without using flash, the picture will be blur if i don't have a steady hand. tat's one of the hardest question in photography...low lighting for advance photog, i would say they'll use external flash or fast lens to capture good image under low light... but for a beginner (like me), without fast lens or external flash...we'll hv to make do with whatever we got....and try-and-error setting btw ISO/apperture/shutter and also d WB... if really need to use internal flash...set it low so that the shadow/light would not seem too harsh... happy shooting

There are so many things that i think i'm lost. haha...no worries...there's always the MANUAL book for me...i started of with the setting as recommended in KenRockwell...after i mastered it...i custom set it now...

QUOTE(BlueSilver @ Mar 23 2008, 10:50 PM) i hope i can post some pictures of the concert as i will be sitting rather far away. Anyways, i was reading the manual and found out that exposure actually brightens a photograph. So i set it to the highest. Is that a good practice? depend on scenario...if u put it on high...meaning it is easy to overexpose ur pic...
