QUOTE(coyouth @ Aug 15 2024, 08:08 PM) New board doesn't ensure that. It is good to see check the board's PCI-E configuration. For example : CODE PCI_E4 slot will be unavailable when an M.2 SSD is installed in the M2_2 slot. PCI_E2 slot will be unavailable when an expansion card is installed in the PCI_E3 slot. Chipset matters too. Low end chipset has fewer PCI-E lanes. If you are still feeling confused, feel free to post the your configurations here for us to inspect what could go wrong (or maybe there is nothing wrong but has something to do with the compatibility). QUOTE(samftrmd @ Aug 15 2024, 04:06 PM) See right above the X16 slot beside the M2 slot is an X1 Gen3 PCIE?Get a X1 NVME add in adaptor like for use with the 2nd SSD https://www.lazada.com.my/products/nvme-pci...3294454519.html ![]() Problem solved. |

QUOTE(sonypshomer @ Aug 15 2024, 04:08 PM) Dude, that's for wifi card. It won't work for M2 NVME SSD.QUOTE(matrix88 @ Aug 15 2024, 04:09 PM) you see the screw on the silver thingy there, remove the screw, remove the silver thingy and replace with your new m2 sdd. What he mean is how he can fit 2 pcs of M2 NVME SSD into the MOBO that only come with one slot. |

There are also limitations such that not every group of PCI-E lanes can be split into fewer lanes. The silver bullet to this is PCI-E switch, but that is expensive to add and you are still bound to the upstream bandwidth. To make things more interesting, welcome to the X670, where AMD cuts cost by slapping 2 of the chipsets in daisy chain fashion. https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2...cf569c7b005bac9 This post has been edited by kingkingyyk: Aug 20 2024, 11:34 AM coyouth liked this post

If OP has chipset limitation, another way is to tack on use of current PCIE lanes using specialised hardware like this Asus GPU with NVME slot
