As long as its not factory fitted, JPJ has the right to kacau........

All of us do it, just be aware....

One of the rules is to use a black cover to cover the lights when not in used. So far *touch wood* have had no issues with JPJ during roadblocks

See if you lucky or not.

I've gone through both JPJ and pdrm blocks multiple times with both my bikes (dominar D400 and 800NK), with the foglights on or off over a period of 3 years, with the ones on the dominar permanently on all the time as DRLs. So far no problems.

But that said, by law, only factory fitted lights are allowed. Any aftermarket lights has to be blocked off with a blanking plate. (Ie. Off road use only)

Then again, my lights are small and not overly conspicuously bright. If you over do it by having too many or too bright ones, then you are just asking for trouble.

I have mine fitted fairly low on the chassis to achieve the lighting "triangulation" for visibility and not necessarily for lighting up the road, so at eye level they don't glare or look too bright.

If you intend to get additional lights, just make sure you get lights with lenses that give you a proper cut off beam and aim them properly.

Hi Bro,

Many thanks for the reply.

My idea is to have DRLs on the bike.

May i please check with you what model of lights are you using?
It will be great if you can let me know the supplier as well.

Thanks

I'm using this on my Dominar past 3 years. Pretty much always on for past 60k km.

I have the single mode white lamp which is hard to find now. I would avoid the 2 colour/flashing ones because they sometimes go off sync from each other which gets annoying. You can find them on Shopee, cheap about 50 to 60 a set shipped. They are decently bright with a good heat sink but small enough to not be conspicuous. The parabolic lens have a good cutoff beam pattern so makes them easy to aim without glaring other people.

Be aware of the cheap multimode 2 wire design lights. Those need to power/cycle to change colour/modes, which is why sometimes they go off sync.

I'm using this on my NK past 2 months. 2 colour mode, no flashing (good) 3 wire design for white or yellow. I just wired both so both white and yellow is on the same time. About 60 a pair shipped. Again, the lens offer good cutoff and they are not overly bright. Fit for what I need it to do.

Bear in mind, these don't come with harnesses. But not an issue with me, as I did a custom harness loom (with extra feed) to a relay/fusebox

It's good to have. 20A max. Fuses for 4 accessories. My custom loom is wired for future upgrade like DVR or other lights and accessories.
