Try getting a feel for the camera by shooting outdoors first. The lighting in the wedding scenes aren't the best to experiment with, generally for handheld shots anything under 1/30s you need to be careful of shake.

it is very soft for ur wedding pics

Ditto. Some are blurred too.

sad.gif I understand that without a speedlite and still hands, shooting in low lighting really require skill. I hope I would get use to the weight of the camera as I continue to shoot. I hope it's a skill not too difficult for a girl to master. tongue.gif

QUOTE(coolboy_kl @ Nov 22 2007, 09:50 AM)
Most of ur photos looks "normal" to me leh!...What's the stories u like to tell?
*
Oh, how could I forget! STORIES. My photojournalism lectures gone down the drain!
I took these photos without the mindset of wanting to tell stories to the people who's gonna see the pictures. I was too busy making sure I don't blur-up all of my pictures. I'm just not good enough. cry.gif

QUOTE(soulfly @ Nov 22 2007, 02:01 PM)
I dunno... the pics are just like out of focus.
*
Oh gawwwwd... cry.gif
I suddenly feel that buying the 400D is overkill for me. (No skill yet want to buy expensive camera)

Thanks for the heads up. smile.gif I haven't really taken the camera outdoors to shoot. I will once I get the chance. I hope practice helps to reduce shakes.

It's a good try nonetheless. Shoot more weddings and hold your camera firmly smile.gif
*
Thanks for the little encouragement. smile.gif Will learn to hold the camera firmly.

Hopefully I get to shoot some more pictures during the weekends so I could post then here.

Thanks for stopping by. smile.gif

If you don't have steady hands, I suggest that you get a system with image stabilizer built into the body or else you have to bear with higher shutter speeds.

Haha, hi. smile.gif

It's been so long and I actually forgotten the existence of this gallery. I bought a 50mm f1.8 and I've shot a fairly amount of pictures. They may not be very pro but these are my best shots so far...

Pointers to help me improve, please. smile.gif

i love kids portraiture since i'm well-known to be lovable to kids.

try out snapping them when they are moving around or on a moving subject.

Hi Valho, I terbalik the lens like what wjie20 said. That's why it's 0 aperture 0 focal length. I don't know how to change to a larger aperture while doing reverse lens. Anyone know how? rolleyes.gif

I took this picture last Christmas when my school had a party. The two children are cousins. I've never seen children so loving. smile.gif

I have to admit shooting children (omg, sounds so wrong) is not an easy task. Even though I know these children it took me a lot of patience to frame. They move around too much. biggrin.gif

I took 400 pictures that day during the children's party. But most of them are snap shots. The parents are not so interested in artistic shots. They are more interested in having "professional" mugshots of their children. shakehead.gif

Here are some shots I took during Chinese Year. I took like almost 300 plus but they are just some really nice family snap shots. These are the ones I feel worthy of putting up on a gallery.

Can I comment as well?

WEll, I used to have similar takes like yours (TS) and it is because we are too kanchiong... The picture is taken way before it was properly focused. This usually is because we are trying to capture some moments we thought will give nice picture...

Hope you understand what I am trying t say.

Do you mean the current ones are out of focus as well?

Yes, I understand. the handshake thing is still something I am trying to get rid of. I'm working on it.

Sinchan: That's my favourite too. smile.gif

smile.gif thanks!

I thought keeping the ladle and the lid would make it less "posed". tongue.gif I don't know if I am making myself clear... Hahaha.
