QUOTE(solarmystic @ Aug 7 2024, 02:46 AM) Interesting, so that means they haven't activated it yet then, since i can still visit all the suspect websites even without implementing any form of DNS over HTTPs in my browser yet. Chat GPTQUOTE TM Net (Unifi) has been using transparent proxies for quite a long time, but the exact start date isn't widely documented. It's likely that this practice began in the early 2000s as part of their efforts to manage network traffic and improve user experience. If you have any specific concerns or need help with something related to transparent proxies, feel free to ask! QUOTE(jibpek @ Aug 7 2024, 07:26 AM) Chat GPT Unifi network equipment ≠ Unifi internet service provider. You can't rely on chatgpt for this kind of information. |

It appears that Malaysian telcos have implemented a form of DNS hijacking by forcing all internet traffic back to their local DNS even while using alternative DNS such as Google (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). According to Sinar Project, a website dedicated to monitoring network interference and restrictions to freedom of expression online, Malaysian Internet Service Providers (ISP) have implemented a Transparent DNS Proxy for two popular public DNS servers. sos -soyacincau https://soyacincau.com/2024/08/07/mcmc-mala...rent-dns-proxy/ |

QUOTE(jibpek @ Aug 7 2024, 11:21 AM) I'm not saying it's not. What I'm saying is you're confusing the difference between Ubiquiti UniFi (network equipment) and UniFi (ISP). This is what you are quoting from chatgpt: QUOTE(jibpek @ Aug 7 2024, 07:26 AM) TM Net (Unifi) has been using transparent proxies for quite a long time, but the exact start date isn't widely documented. Apart from accessing blocked sites using these 2 DNS, does it still have benefit for us to use the DNS for every other thing? Will it still be "faster" as claimed? Should we still continue to use it?
