What’s the purpose of the phone? To record points? I’m guessing it monitors the crosshair on the gun’s scope and monitor the timing of trigger to determine if the shot is a hit or not?

i saw one AR type game, where you put the phone on top of the gun, and you shoot the monsters you see on the phone

you can play without the gun, just run around shooting using the phone. was quite glitchy, not sure if it is still around or not
