Yep..actually both HD-DVD and BD-DVD also using Blue ray laser for shorter wavelength.

But last i read no format is winning. People who bought PS3 not neccessary buy any Blue movies(ahem!)...and i believe one of the previous Blue Ray supporter studio also support HD-DVD format now (can't remember who)....so it's still 50-50.

One thing's for sure. PS3 is the LOSER in the videogame war this generation. That is for certain.

Paramount and Dreamworks - a month after that, Paramount launched Transformers in hidefinition and the title became the best selling hidef title of all time. selling 190,000 copies in its first week. And who cares when they are 5mil over PS3s out there yawn.gif yawn.gif when 500,000 HD DVD hardwares are capable of setting hidefinition record wink.gif nod.gif

But whatever it is, I would always love the idea of having this type of drive available smile.gif If money permits, I would buy both Bluray and HD DVD drives and just install it on my ATX tower hehe, then I can have best of both worlds. But that's just a nice sweet dream for me now.... sigh

Any local pricing for the Asus HD-DVD drive ? Being an internal unit, it should be cheaper than the Xbox 360 ext drive right ? right ? I'm hoping it would fit somewhere in the sub RM400-500 price range.

g5sim getting high on hd dvd and blu-ray war?

haha, my bet, both will still stay for a while, here with RTM moving towards HD content, my bet is on Blu-Ray, with Blu-ray 'winning' the war, the US is heading towards Internet buy and download very soon once the Writer strike is settled

given the fact that Sony is supporting Blu-Ray, we have a clear winner, this is not BetaMax vs VHS, lolz, Sony don't want to lose it (again), Blu-Ray has more titles, I think HD DVD have more blue films, not too sure wink.gif

PS3 is a nice Blu-Ray player

I want a Blu-ray writer instead, hehe,

Toshiba has 50GB HD DVD, and 99USD players, even its notebook too, but it is still hard to believe that HD DVD will eventually win, unless, the 'pirates' start releasing something on HD DVD,

Micheal Bay once said, the industry is paid to use HD DVD (Microsoft is one of them), it is just a matter of time, before the industry is running of $$$ and patience, and heading towards download and view wink.gif

Blu-ray FTW!!!!
