A company that I sent my resume to has now requested that I send my certificates, resume, application form, a photocopy of my IC, and latest payslip to their HR department.

Is it appropriate for me to send the photocopy of my IC to the company before the interview?

My friend told me that some large companies, if they review your resume and decide to hire you, will likely consider the interview a mere formality. Therefore, they will request your photocopy of your identification card first.

That should only send when you are in on-boarding stage

Not at interview or offer stage

Big red flag
