Last time at the peak of China's meteoric rise (2010-2020) and when they're constantly getting in the news for shitty tourist behaviour,
my malaysian chinese friend all kena same blanket stereotype also when travelling.

Heck even heard story of tension between mainlanders and locals in Canada over housing prices,
the earlier chinese settlers there kena dragged in also (they're just average folks huddling in local Chinatown)

Malaysia have the advantage of the chinese 'minority' being significant enough in numbers for us to mingle and differentiate malaysian vs mainlanders.
Smaller chinese minorities in other countries memang kena paint with single brush together with mainlanders
(worse if they also can't speak local language due to isolating themselves within their community all their life, sure cannot explain the nuances.)

Nope and never want to, based on accounts of them being a highly-stressed and superficial society. Theirs is a society riddled with social illness.

Just wondering how they act as tourists in foreign lands.
