I just wondering. I have a desktop pc with amd athlon. Im thinking of upgrading my pc. But if i just letgo this cpu how much they willing to take 😂. so I will keep it, but I dunno is it possible to use it as media player.

Depends how much you expecting. Basically, it not worth much on 2nd hand market. I suggest you to donate it to charity or keep it and run it for crypto project with Ubuntu.

Old cpu are practically useless nowadays after Intel introduced E-cores only CPU like N95/97/100. I used think I wanna upgrade my office PCs with cheapo i5 3rd gen but given up after trying one of these low powered CPU. I even retired the old pc I had at my home and replaced them with a N100. These are more suited for storing medias as you can even keep them running 24/7 since they would just consume 6w at idle. Dont waste your electricity running those 45/65w Intel or AMD cpu from back then.

Quad E-cores with 16GB ram and 500GB SSD with preinstalled Windows for just RM700.

You can totally repurpose your AMD Athlon PC as a media player. Just throw on something like Kodi or Plex, and it should handle media streaming fine. As for selling the CPU, don’t expect to make a fortune—old stuff like that usually doesn’t go for much.

If you're planning to upgrade, you might not get much for your AMD Athlon—maybe $20 to $50 if it's in decent shape. I had an old Athlon setup I used for a while, and it actually worked well as a media player after I installed a lightweight Linux distro and Kodi. It handled streaming and local files without any issues, so if yours has enough RAM and a decent graphics card, you should be good to go! Plus, it's a fun project to tinker with if you're into that sort of thing.
