Going for a short 3D2N trip for a hiking package. I know it’s a super small town so any recommended place to stay and eat. Thanks!

Go hike Pinnacle of Kampar?
To be honest, Kampar”s food so so only, Kampar Noodle & Curry Chicken Bun, some traditional pastries. Given me a choice , I”ll drive to Tg Tualang , the adjacent town to Kampar for their famous Sg Perak fresh water prawns & river fishes. There are too many options at Tg. Tualang, you see the restorant with the most ppl, you just go to that location. The fresh water prawns there, they sell by how many pieces per 1 kg. The lesser pieces per 1 kg, the bigger the size of the prawbs, the more expensive it is. |

Hey man. I'm studying at Kampar rn and I have some suggestions. Hotel- MD Botique Hotel. Stayed there with my family 3-4 times, you can usually sleep comfortably in the bed without itching. Only downside is the aircond might be abit old. But still cold la. The panasonic water heater for shower are all in good condition with good pressure. Booking price is also cheap! Eat: -Facefood Restaurant 潮坊面馆 Their dry noodles are so so only. I recommend soup noodles like pork noodle soup, curry noodle soup. The amount of meat given is really generous. Shop closes at 3pm. -Sheng Yi Pin Cai Guan 盛一品菜馆 I really liked the (蒙古)mongolian chicken rice set. costs rm15, but the sauce really nice. but note that the chicken is fried, just incase you dont wanna eat fried stuff. Its open until quite late night. -Homey Eatery Restaurant I usually come here to eat chicken rice. Starts from rm6 for normal chicken rice. I liked their rice. But no soup though. Stall owner is an uncle with his son. Dont go to the wrong one! Solds out around 12pm-1pm. -台湾卤肉饭•甜品 Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice & Dessert Pretty okay place to eat braised pork rice. Not super good, but an okay place to go if you craving for it. This post has been edited by miyeonevermioff: Jul 7 2024, 01:28 PM miyakochan89, dogbert_chew, and 1 other liked this post

My kg is just 2 towns away. I would recommend Grand Kampar. Affordable, and room is rightly big for a budget hotel.
As to where to eat, morning breakfast can try the market. Anytime can try curry chicken bun at Kam Long, or Kam Ling cannot remember which. Can travel ipoh eat better la. Got nga choi kai |

QUOTE(bristlebb @ Jul 7 2024, 08:30 PM) Not the old town one. For me it was one of the claypot in new town. But that was about 10 years ago, so I am not sure. bristlebb liked this post

Agree with those who recommended staying in Ipoh instead. It's not too far away, more choices of hotels and eateries. But if you absolutely have to stay in Kampar, then do hop over to Tanjung Tualang to sample the big head fresh water prawns and fish.
