QUOTE(smokey @ Nov 17 2007, 04:11 PM) ^^ thank you for ur suggestion... hello to all 3D users, artists and professionals hereim following on9 tutorial which teach me hw to model but my modelling turns out not as nice as theirs... this is my model after 2 days of work...feel tired d...haha... ![]() I'm a 3D artist specialized in mechanical and automotive modeling for next gen games currently working in a 3D games development studio in KL I seldom post in forums,I'm more towards a forum reader but seems that the local 3D community has grown since previously and it gives great honour to me to join the crowd the car models here are excellent. I do hope the car modelers could post some wireframe shots to be viewed hello there smokey its always nice to see a newcomer in 3D whos interested in modeling cars. however, before modeling a car,u must 1st understand the car itself.the fundamental of the construction of each cars differs from each models n makes.cars usually consists of a few major lines which defines its shape.the most important thing is to get the main shape correct first, the details e.g wheel arch, door trims, shutlines, vents & etc comes on the later stage. if ur familiar with terms like spline cage or subdivision modeling, than the process might be easier and faster. u seem to have chosen a good choice to model a boxy car.its a good training to get the right shape and proportion for a beginner modeling a car does not come straight to 3D...the earliest stages determines the outcome of a nice and 100% accurate modeling...which are the setting up of the blueprints.but always bear in mind that blueprints are not 100% precise, only AUTOCAD files are 100% precise.so to ensure that u can model nicely and accurately,a nice large resolution blueprint and some reference photos are crucial. i dont think i can cover everything by replying here, however if u really are keen in knowing more, u can PM/email me the blueprints of the car u are currently working on and search for more perspective ( 3 quarter ) and elevations jpegs of the car. I will try my best to assist you cheers! -support the local gaming industry, support original games as sweat and blood of the artists flow in the production of the titles- http://au.codemasters.com/games/?gameid=2459 |
