I'm buying a new laptop. Only dell and toshiba in my mind. Can u suggest which 1 is the better laptop. I mean in all aspects. Some say dell has the best service while toshiba has the better body build and more beautiful in shape. How about the motherboard? Heat tolerance? Battery life span?

I'm not familiar with Toshiba laptop (haven't try them ) but if you want better customization and Customer Support, Dell is your friend. Customize to your heart's content.

it's rather difficult to make comparison based on brand alone. sometimes, same brand but different models will have different ratings due to the hardware used. i would suggest to specifically name the two models of these two brands that you intended to buy and let the rest comment on them. my 2 cents.

Yes, it was not fair to compare 2 brand without knowing the model. If by brand I think both give equal point. Each brand have weakness and strength.

I use both,
Dell Vs Toshiba....depends on the price...
Budget units, Dell better.....toshiba like plastic
Most expensive unit...gotta be Toshiba, Dell is more like Mid range units built quality.

I pick Dell anytime. No other brand laptop can be customise like Dell. No other brand laptop have a better service than Dell. If style and design more important, than I go for Sony Vaio.

I've used both makes of notebook before... Well, Toshiba is excellent if u are going for the more mid-range and high-end notebooks... On the other hand, Dell is the leader for the lower-end of the scale, i.e. the laptops priced from M$2k and below...

Dell. I've seen too many Toshibas deployed where I work, many with serious motherboard, keyboard problems. Toshiba's support also takes forever to service a notebook compared to Dell's almost instantaneous support.
