Manchester United are interested in Paulo Dybala as questions persist regarding his contract situation at AS Roma, as has been reported by Calciomercato.

The attacking midfielder signed for Roma as a free agent in the summer of 2022, doing so on a three-year contract that was came to €6m-per-year with bonuses.

There had been understanding that the financial terms of that contract would be increased, but that hasn't happened yet with one year remaining. The 30-year-old Dybala has been trying to reach a new agreement and wants the fixed part of his contract to be no less than €7.5m, which he feels he deserves as a key player in the squad.

Roma and Dybala have two key dates regarding the renewal, the first of which is July 8, the day the Serie A club begins its summer retreat. The second set of dates is the time period between July 1-30, when there is a clause that would allow any foreign club to sign Dybala for €12m.

Man United are interested in triggering the clause five years after he turned down the chance to join them as part of a swap deal that would have taken Romelu Lukaku to Juventus.
