QUOTE(touristking @ Jun 14 2024, 09:22 AM) If can bring one who actually bankrupted Malaysia back as PM and rejoice in the streetrs, who else could be worst than that? Pity ppl like u keep insisting to bring back Najiiis the proven crook, truly no shame. First of all, all those elaborate frauds done in 1MDB thru the fatty and counterparts in Middle Shit is not even arguable. This whole "scandal" has been proven to involve actual theft and corruption not just locally but by overseas authority. As for the biggest scandal for the BNM forex venture, was there ever any similar fraud involved where the money actually flows into individual/party's pocket? If so why govt changes few times but zero effort to charge the alleged person involved? Anyone who actually make an effort to do it, will probably get support from voters, so please go ahead and champion the course lah instead of barking about Najiiis not being the biggest scandal.

QUOTE(MGM @ Jun 14 2024, 09:31 AM) Jib has no role in this scandal, totally clean or fooled? If 1MDB is a company it is akin to your finance manager and account manager colluded with the banker to swindle and run away with your company fund Even so the company still is profitable because it is a great development project due to Najib competency This post has been edited by reversependulum: Jun 14 2024, 09:55 AM

Not sure about the biggest scandal. But biggest tragedy for Malaysia was when najib dumped his ex-wife for rosmah.

Chat GPT summary.... The Malaysia BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia) forex scandal refers to an event that occurred in the early 1990s. It involved large-scale speculative trading by the central bank of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), in the foreign exchange (forex) market. BNM engaged in aggressive forex trading, which resulted in significant losses for the central bank.
The scandal arose due to the magnitude of the losses incurred by BNM during its speculative trading activities. The losses amounted to billions of dollars, and it was alleged that the central bank had engaged in unauthorized and excessive speculative trading, far beyond its mandate to manage the country's foreign exchange reserves.
The scandal was significant not only because of the financial losses incurred by BNM but also because of the controversy surrounding the actions of the central bank and its management of public funds. Critics argued that the speculative trading was reckless and irresponsible, leading to accusations of mismanagement and questions about the oversight of financial institutions in Malaysia.
While the scandal did not involve the outright theft of money in the traditional sense, it raised serious concerns about governance, accountability, and risk management within the central bank. It also prompted investigations and inquiries into the conduct of BNM officials and the regulatory framework governing financial institutions in Malaysia at the time.
Notice how TS try to compare outright theft of money and corruption in 1MDB to mismanagement of speculative forex of the BNM forex scandal?
All BS talk by ppl like TS is to downplay the the severity of proven crime and hopefully voters would sway back to the convicted crooks and gangs.

QUOTE(hotdayum @ Jun 13 2024, 04:21 PM) Nama pun scandal mana ada baik punya bengong la TS ni TS trying hard to downplay the 1MDB corruption. 1MDB scandal involves outright theft of money, CBT and corruption on the highest level of the country, the then PM. BNM forex scandal involves alleged mismanagement of speculative forex and possibly breach of trust beyond BNM fiduciary duty. TS conveniently named both as scandals but they are totally of different criminal nature.

Lost massive amount of money. Make Bank Negara bankrupt. To cover the hole. Sells off MAS to crony. Crony suck MAS dry and MAS share price collapse. Buy back MAS shares at original pre-collapse price.

Again, pls ask your beloved politikus/parties to pursue further action on alleged BNM forex speculation scandal. They did become govt back then also krik krik no action. There no reason why voters should accept back corruption convicted ex PM just becoz his scandal wasn't the largest. Without falling to TS trap of focusing on "scandal", 1MDB is the BIGGEST corruption and theft of money crime in this country. It is also the WORLD BIGGEST known THEFT of sovereign fund.

BNM's fiduciary function is not to engage in business/forex speculation to generate profit. That's breach of trust and mismanagement. Anyway, TS trying hard to mislead ppl into equating mismanagement to outright theft of money in 1MDB.

To oust Najib, many bajingan DAP spun and created a list of narrative to whitewash and defend mamak's role in the 1998 financial crisis.
Kinda understandable though, most of DAP brainwashing target was those young, dumb and blind Chinese youth that had zero historical knowledge of what happened during mamak's rule, or even bother asking the oldfags.
