Been lucky or extremely good?

TBH matric do still have like 10% quotas for nons. It’s given to either those really brilliants in SPM or those whom are lucky enough to get a spot from 2nd batch after new vacancy from those gotten JPA and left.

Ayam was 2nd batcher (my ulu address helped), and among us the lowest entry requirement just 1-2A (yes, there’s nons whom gotten matric even with just 1-2A).

First batch yes, it’s pretty much only straight A can get.

But once those straight A guys left after getting JPA etc, they’ll pull in B-listers for the new vacancies; the requirement much more lenient (and my theory is an ulu address will be helping you big time).

Matric been given both priority and leniency to enter IPTA:

1. It’s split into 2 sems instead of 2 years like SPTM, you tackle the exams/subjects better than lump them all to one final test.

2. The A grade line is embarrassingly low; on idea “A” supposed to mean 80 marks above, but for matric is not even remotely close to that.

3. Matric had ko-ku classes and events integrated into the syllabus; those will give you higher marks than typical STPM students.

4. Since matric results can’t be used outside of UPU, UPU will prospect their candidates from matric first to prevent or reduce the case which matric grads has no university to continue study.
