can u give me the safe temp range?coz at this stock OCed, load reach 72~75c on full load

is ur gc the same wif mine?do u vmod it to get that core speed?
*
hmm thats quite hot... 80C will be the limit... my gc didn't vmod yet thats why limited to certain speed.... temperature is not a problem as the load temp is below 50...

Firstly, you need to set the jumper right to get the maximum vGPU smile.gif Did you have it on the 2 pins nearest to the PCI-E connector? Secondly, what are the temps like? If it's too hot, it'll easily crash, hang, etc.

what jumper? blink.gif

As long as you have the jumper on the right place (feeding 1.2 vGPU) then you'll be hitting 700+ easily. How far you can go depends on how well you can keep the guy cool biggrin.gif
*
blargh... only galaxy can overvolt that way?... MSI doesn't seem to have a jumper... cry.gif have to voltmod... im running 745 core on 1.1v...

Added on May 15, 2008, 10:40 amwait i see 2 pins on the board... no jumper on it ... is that it?... o_O

I'm afraid only the Galaxy 8800GT has it smile.gif You can either mod your MSI via BIOS (1.1V) or do a hardmod for more. Well, 745Mhz stable is a good overclock already. Since you also have a Quad, the 3dmark score would be impressive.

my GPU load temp only 50+... i wana push it till 800mhz... cry.gif

It's not always about the temps and even if you have sub-zero, it doesn't mean we can hit 800Mhz core. When we overclock, it comes to a stage whereby we need to compensate with additional voltages. If it needs 1.3vGPU to run 800Mhz then it would need that amount of volts (non-negotiable) biggrin.gif Hence, the temps doesn't play a big role anymore.

The same applies to CPU overclocking and assuming we have E8400 default Vcore at 3.3Ghz, 40C load and if we put a phase change maintaining the same configuration, voltages, etc, we still can't hit 4Ghz because it needs more Vcore smile.gif

i meant the voltage... i need to up the voltage to push it to the temperature limit... brows.gif

You need a hardmod for that smile.gif It's pretty easy but the points to solder is a bit small so good soldering skills would apply
*
my soldering skill sux.. hand shaky... too risky... cry.gif

Practice makes perfect biggrin.gif Alternatively, put very minimal solder iron on the wire and try to connect with that point. It's alright to try and eventually you'll be good at it.

do it wrongly and bye bye RM900... biggrin.gif

hr-03gt is overkill... get accelero s1 for half the price of hr-03gt... i'm using it... load temp at 745core is 53C and idles at 39C..

well.. U can first change the cooler to achieve higher clocks.. Then do some bios modding to lower the mem timing and adjust the voltage.. Like what I did.. If u wanna go extreme then vmod it.. Also don't forget that higher CPU clocks will improve the results..
