QUOTE(clawhammer @ May 15 2008, 10:24 AM) As long as you have the jumper on the right place (feeding 1.2 vGPU) then you'll be hitting 700+ easily. How far you can go depends on how well you can keep the guy cool blargh... only galaxy can overvolt that way?... MSI doesn't seem to have a jumper... Added on May 15, 2008, 10:40 amwait i see 2 pins on the board... no jumper on it ... is that it?... o_O This post has been edited by IcEMoCHa: May 15 2008, 10:40 AM |

QUOTE(clawhammer @ May 15 2008, 11:11 AM) It's not always about the temps and even if you have sub-zero, it doesn't mean we can hit 800Mhz core. When we overclock, it comes to a stage whereby we need to compensate with additional voltages. If it needs 1.3vGPU to run 800Mhz then it would need that amount of volts (non-negotiable) i meant the voltage... i need to up the voltage to push it to the temperature limit... The same applies to CPU overclocking and assuming we have E8400 default Vcore at 3.3Ghz, 40C load and if we put a phase change maintaining the same configuration, voltages, etc, we still can't hit 4Ghz because it needs more Vcore |

well.. U can first change the cooler to achieve higher clocks.. Then do some bios modding to lower the mem timing and adjust the voltage.. Like what I did.. If u wanna go extreme then vmod it.. Also don't forget that higher CPU clocks will improve the results..
