Firstly, you need to set the jumper right to get the maximum vGPU Did you have it on the 2 pins nearest to the PCI-E connector? Secondly, what are the temps like? If it's too hot, it'll easily crash, hang, etc.

As long as you have the jumper on the right place (feeding 1.2 vGPU) then you'll be hitting 700+ easily. How far you can go depends on how well you can keep the guy cool

I'm afraid only the Galaxy 8800GT has it You can either mod your MSI via BIOS (1.1V) or do a hardmod for more. Well, 745Mhz stable is a good overclock already. Since you also have a Quad, the 3dmark score would be impressive.

It's not always about the temps and even if you have sub-zero, it doesn't mean we can hit 800Mhz core. When we overclock, it comes to a stage whereby we need to compensate with additional voltages. If it needs 1.3vGPU to run 800Mhz then it would need that amount of volts (non-negotiable) Hence, the temps doesn't play a big role anymore.

The same applies to CPU overclocking and assuming we have E8400 default Vcore at 3.3Ghz, 40C load and if we put a phase change maintaining the same configuration, voltages, etc, we still can't hit 4Ghz because it needs more Vcore

You need a hardmod for that It's pretty easy but the points to solder is a bit small so good soldering skills would apply
