Malaysia BOLEH! Malaysia has done it again in the latest 2025 QS University Rankings!

UM has emerged as one of the top universities in ASEAN, and in Malaysia, beating its regional neighbours, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

As one of the fastest growing economies in ASEAN, Malaysia has proven its resilience and educational poweress with its top university, Universiti Malaya, ranking a highly respectable 60th globally!

UM, and Malaysian graduates in general, will be snatching TOP jobs from Singaporeans (as well as the Australians and Britons) in their own country soon.
The ringgit can be expected to appreciate to SGD1.00-RM2.50 in the future with its highly-skilled and sought after graduates.
More foreign talents are expected to land on the country's shores, esp. KL and JB, earning top dollar, and contributing to its innovative and multifaceted economy.

Aiyoh why you ask such question! biggrin.gif

UM ranked in the 251-300 category in THE 2024 rankings. QS has more criteria and metrics than THE.

Let's celebrate the good ranking of UM in QS. (Forget about THE!)

The ascent of UM started during Jibby times with the Education Roadmap 2013-2023 and the Higher Education Roapmap 2015-2025 which was retained by all governments post GE14.

Before Jibby came in, Malaysia universities were in free-fall until UM dropped to 256th in the world and improved almost every year in the QS ranking to as high as 59th best in the world in 2021 before falling a bit in 2022 and 2023 and now recovering to 60th best.

And this is QS's own chart for UM.

Last time, PHcai claim that the RM20mil that Jibby govt spent to hire world experts to design the education blueprints under the National Transformation Program was a waste of money.

It seems very cheap now as we see such progress.

RM20m consultancy fees for National Education Blueprint a waste, says MP

I usually look at QS Ranking based on
1. Employer Reputation,
2. Academic Reputation, and last
3. Employment Outcome.

UM
ER = 95.1%
AR = 82.9%
E0 = 69.3%

Delusion is real rather data driven

Jibby 10 years improved rank from 180 to 114 (36%)

Change of government improved rank from 114 to 59 (48%) within 3 years.

And yeah ...... Ranking 180 is lower hanging fruit when comparing when one is 114
