Didn't watch the game, but seems like slot using the same exact line up again with late subs. And we are playing early kick off this Saturday.
Seems like our season gonna end even before half way point at Christmas due to exhaustion if slot continues like this, lol. |

I think it's Slot's style trying to string a perfect pass into the box and score. Our front 3 just running around their defence but not shooting

But Slot's not a gegenpressing game, don't think it will burn out our players like Klopp's tacticSeems like our season gonna end even before half way point at Christmas due to exhaustion if slot continues like this, lol. |

QUOTE(tampinmy @ Oct 3 2024, 07:11 AM) QUOTE(tampinmy @ Oct 3 2024, 07:12 AM) Even if no gegenpress, it will still exhaust the players like what other teams like city keep complaining. Hopefully you are right and they will not get exhausted that bad.Villa beating bayern really open my eyes. Emery seems like a damn good coach in Europe. Their match this week against utd is a must watch yo. |

Irl the rotation squad by Arne. The plans to build this squad on transition under Klopp and Arne from tactical and formation looks good. This squad has started to build chemistry and reap the benefits of understanding between each other. I like how Szoboszlai right now can drop back to clear the danger threat from Bologna but at the same time most dislike about today is Trent were ghosting from the match

QUOTE(sahathai @ Oct 3 2024, 03:56 AM) leading but overall very poor first half. Again we played risky game at the back.McA with the goal Salah with a great assist but then misplaced all his passes after that. defenders passing around in dangerous area without purpose. got dispossessed a few times. luckily Ali in top form. Szobo still refuse to shoot. Ryan impressive as always. Salah and trent need to be rested |

Arne Slot's pre-match press conference vs Crystal Palace:
League Table QUOTE "We are Liverpool, so players here are used to being on top of the table," Slot said. "It would be very weird if a player at Liverpool would have his head in the clouds. "So no, but if we donât play well tomorrow, people will probably come up with that instead of saying Palace played well or we maybe did other things wrong. But I don't think [the players being carried away], and that would definitely not be normal, for two reasons. "One, these players are experienced enough to read the league table after six games with the schedule we have compared to some other teams. And second of all, Virgil, Alisson, Trent, Robbo (Andy Robertson) Mo Salah; they won the league here and the Champions League here. "So for them it is a nice thing to be top of the table but I am not expecting them to look at their mobile every second of the day seeing them being top of the table." "You always look at the first one and that is Crystal Palace and they have already shown how tough of an opponent they are against the big teams with their results against Manchester United and Chelsea. "That's the first game [up next] for us and it's a difficult one for us as well. A 12:30 kick off after playing Wednesday night, late in the Champions League against a team who has had a week to prepare. "But that is part of working at a top club that we face those teams and that we have to be ready to face those teams and that is what we are tomorrow. I donât look at this moment about one point, three points, four, it's after the weekend it is interesting to look at the table, not after the game we have played." Individual performance QUOTE I think why players play well has first of all to do with the quality they have as players. Mo has a lot of quality, Ryan has a lot of quality. Actually, every player that plays here has a lot of quality. Now it's up to us â and I say us because it's not only me and my staff, it's also the players â to play in the best possible way as a team and then individuals will do special things. It was an unbelievable finish from Mo [on Wednesday night] but the only reason he got the chance to finish was because Trent Alexander-Arnold made an overlapping run and that's why it opened up on the inside. And if you give that space to Mo, he can score a special goal. That's about his quality. It's about Ryan's quality, but the amount of times Virgil [van Dijk] or Ibou [Konate] play balls through to Ryan where Ryan can turn and play his balls towards all the good attackers we have, that makes it in my opinion a team performance, which is really good. Then as a result of that you see individuals playing well also. Contract extension QUOTE I was hoping in your last question that you didn't use the word 'contract' because I was saying 'Trent is doing like this and he is doing like thisâŚ' It's the same boring answer as always and I could really understand if you ask me this once every two weeks but if you ask me this after two or three days again then you still get the same answer and people feel that I'm boring them! So, try it after the international break again! Ryan Gravenberch QUOTE âIf you look at all the signings weâve made at this club in the past I donât know how many years, most players were under 24, 25,â said Slot. âYou expect players from 22 or 23, especially if they come to a club like Liverpool and this environment, to progress, more maybe than from a player thatâs 33 or 34. âIt is not that big of a surprise if you bring the quality like Ryan Gravenberch in, if you start to work with him, you do the right programme, and he has the team-mates he has, that he can progress. âThatâs what weâre seeing at the moment. Now itâs up to him to keep the standards as they are at this moment. Thatâs a challenge because he, like all the others, has to play every three days. âHe hasnât played a lot of games last season. I think he already played more 90-minute games than he did in the past two seasons, so interesting to see how he copes with it but until now he does really well.â Darwin Nunez QUOTE âItâs both,â âI think itâs the challenge we as a staff always have, to bring the best out of individuals. âWe try to find different ways of positioning Darwin than Diogo, because they are not the same players. So their teammates also adjust to the player they are playing with. âThatâs what I as a manager have to do and what we are doing. âYes, he didnât score in his last game, because he was offside as well. âSo when we bring him the chances heâs able to score, but unfortunately we couldnât bring him that much in the position we want to. âIf Iâm completely honest, which I like to be, even Diogo didnât have [enough goals]. âI think most of the goals weâve scored have come from our wingers until now and Diogo scored two when we played West Ham â and then he played the No. 10 position. âSo maybe itâs also something for us to look at, although we score a lot of goals, to bring our striker â if itâs Diogo or Darwin â even more in positions to score.â 12.30 kick off QUOTE In general, I think the league where I'm coming from in Holland, they are more aware and try to help the teams that play in Europe more than it happens over here. But to be fair to the English FA, our schedule here is so tight that it's so, so difficult. And I think it's something that has to do with the people that are sitting in front of me, so television stations â I have a feeling I do an interview every day. That's why we play at 12.30 because I think they can pick which team they want to have on at 12.30 and then it's nine out of 10 times Liverpool is included. I don't think it has so much to do with the 12.30 kick-off, for me it has to do [with] that every away game is difficult. I showed them last week that 10 out of 19 away games last season didn't lead to a win. So you can then argue if it's 12.30 or is it just difficult to play an away game? And we can come up with Newcastle, Forest and there were two others where there were last-second winners. So, that shows you how difficult it is to play an away game, especially for us, in this league. Because we play so many times then at 12.30, people talk about 12.30. I think we have to talk about an away game and [how] that is difficult, because if 12.30 was a difficult time to perform then I'm a really stupid manager because we train every day at 12 o'clock. I don't see the idea behind it being that difficult performing at that time. Federico Chiesa QUOTE "We'll have to wait and see," said Slot on the Italy international. "He didn't train in the last days, he came in today to see if he could train. If he can, then I still have a decision to make as we can only select 20 and he hasn't trained for a few days. But first of all we have to wait and see if he can even train." |
