If you want to try out new formation, do it with the first team. If you want to play the kids, play them in a formation that they train and play everyday.

What will Chiesa think playing in this team? I'm the only performing, in form player and when you rest, you rest the others while I struggle in this youth team.

If we play this team today and still can't beat Villa with our "first team" at the weekend, might as well just close shop for the season.

Changed formation, put Endo at CB, Chiesa as striker, Robbo at CB and expect to win against a team who has already beaten us twice this season.

Klopp moulded our youth team to play the same way as the first team. Youth players come into the senior side knowing the game plan, the tactics, but always with senior players alongside them. We fucking played half our youth team in the final and won this cup. Compare that against today. Slot should've also gave himself an off day and put the youth team coach in charge. There was no evidence that the youngsters knew how to play, and the seniors looked clueless as well. Did we even train in this formation.
I'm interested to know what Slot said in the post match press conference.

I can't help but think that the low-block that Slot keeps complaining is due to his own tactics. When the transition is this slow of course everyone on the opposing team is getting back in place for defensive duties. No one is going to leave 3 players up top when they are facing a "counter attack".

A lucky gift from Martinez but we need more of the same in the 2nd half. I hope we don't sit on a 1 goal lead because to throw it away in the 89th minute would be a devastating blow.

Not sure why everyone is saying Robbo/VVD decision is wrong. From replay he was offside and he ducked to let the ball pass. Doesn't matter if the goalie was gonna get there or not. If the ball had touched him it might not have gone in, and if it had gone in he would've been offside. So he was interfering with play.

I might be wrong here since I am looking only on replay.
But I think we gave too much space to their attackers with no one closing down. It's like daring them to cross/shoot. No one tried to stop the cross coming in for first goal, and no one pressured the ball for 2nd goal. Who is our defence coach FFS.

On this form we will be losing all our away matches this season. Damn.

Srsly I don't know what Slot is trying to do. Playing the same style again and again when opposite teams have long figured out how to play against us.
If our midfield belly is so soft, why not play Endo. Why persist with Szobo at right back, not that he is bad there, but he is far far more effective in midfield and our player of the season so far. Why is Ramsay not playing in his position or even Gomez? Why Ekitike dropped again? What has Isak done in his time here that makes him no.1?

So many questions but no answers. Almost sure if we lose or draw this he gonna say low block team again.

It's no use just throwing on offensive players. Grav at CB, Szobo at RB. Macca alone as CM. How is this not a disaster.
Salah Chiesa Ekitike Gakpo Ngumoha who is striker? In the end just traffic cones in the box and rely on ball bouncing around.
I think there was a period where a whole minute was spent passing left to right to left with VVD the main culprit while Forest players just follow the ball around. No one trying killer pass when there are bodies in the box. No one trying to hit the cross early, always taking 1 touch 2 touch and then recycle ball again.
What a tough match to watch. If this is not crisis, I don't know what is. Is it 6 league defeats in last 7 games? I can't remember a Liverpool team so bad.

Slot needs to realise that EPL teams learn fast. In the summer everyone would've spent days and weeks looking at our videos and finding ways to play us. Probably when Forest see Ekitike on for Konate, they already have a plan knowing Grav is not natural at CB. Early season no one expected Szobo at RB. Now everyone knows how to play when they see Szobo at RB, because they know the midfield engine will be depleted. Put the players in their rightful positions, if Gomez and Ramsay are fit enough for the bench, they are fit enough to play.
The way we are conceding goals is not like we are letting in worldies from outside the box. If Heitinga was the defensive coach last year then please bring him back. It is shocking to say the least.

Ok since he owned up his responsibilities, he should be given the benefit to fix this in the next 10 league games. Don't need to think about cup games now. Just focus on league. Hopefully 6 defeats in 7 does not continue to become 12 defeats in 14.
He needs to fix it on the training ground, fix his tactics, fix the mentality of the players, fix his incompetent staff if any. Just cannot continue like this.
It's already almost conclusive Arsenal will win the league. And good job to them and Arteta.

I hope to see Isak and Wirtz at least shining for the second half of season. If they don't, then drop them to the bench. Also see Chiesa and Endo given chances. If you are already so bad there really is no logic not to introduce fringe players who are eager to impress.

My expectations is this low now, not sure what to expect from upcoming games. We have a run of winnable games but ironically lost arguably the most winnable one already haha

I would not call Slot a fraud. He can't be a fraud when he won the PL, can say with Klopp's players but imo tactically he was very good when managing in-game changes and substitutions.

The difference this season is teams have already found out the way to play the champions, and we have not changed. With so many new players and departures the situation is more difficult.

Chemistry and morale of the team is also questionable. Kerkez Frimpong Mama Ekitike Leoni are essentials given the departures. But Wirtz and Isak for a combined 230m pounds? Not sure.

Still, the manager needs to sort this out. At the end of Feb/March if we are languishing below 10th position then it will be time to really think about getting someone else in the summer. I believe many managers will be keen to work with the squad that we have.
