5G smartphones are getting popular and cheaper. Since I am looking to upgrade my smartphone, I have made a comparison chart to compare each offering from Honor, Redmi, Realme and Samsung. Here is my verdict, the results might surprise you...And I hope my findings will help you guys who are shopping for affordable 5G phone.







Not Recommending 5G Phones

Redmi 13C and Realme 11x/12x are not getting my recommendation since both are lowly specs and high price.



Recommendation 5G phones

The newly launched Honor X7b 5G phone @ RM899 is getting my thumb up due to big display, camera sensor and battery size. Dual speakers might not sound loud but at least we can hear stereo playback. The only issue is how long Honor going to provide Android OS support.

At first, I have omitted Samsung brand due to my memory about high price image. After checking, Samsung Galaxy A25 might be the winner in the 5G smartphone. A25 with Exynos 1280 comes with 2 x Cortex-A78 (D6000 series come with 2 x Cortex-A76), Super AMOLED, dual useful cameras and stereo speakers. Samsung also provides much better Android OS support. Not to mention you could find much better price than SRP RM1,099.

i'd put Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G or Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G into consideration too

their specs to price ratio is pretty impressive

I think x9b has the best bang for buck

A35 can get at 1229 in shopee. I think much better

I think you should monitor Lazada and Shopee for some old stock of Dimensity 8100 smartphone. Should be able to get Realme GT Neo 3 or Poco X4 GT slightly above RM1k during sale.

if u put x9b and Samsung A35.. better u put poco x6 pro too around 1300+ with dimensity 8300 ultra. much more powerful than every phone u listed.

Samsung A35 should be pretty good buy if your mum is not into gaming. And you should be able to find good deal in Shopee

i didnt, but almost bought for my parents. but sadly, the poco f3 she using still lasting.....

You need to wait for the right time when Samsung dump their inventories... bought 2x S23FE 256GB for RM1,5xx each last year. At least 5 years updates, plus Samsung screen is generally brighter, much louder speaker which the elderly like, also really good service center.
