Ok la, not stealing electric but this kind of raise the question of how he is getting the space in mall and if he's doing so in compliance to government rules & regulatory.
Crypto mining is akin to running a small factory producing high heat, noise? and consuming high electricity, so under normal circumstances its definitely not allowed to park inside mall. Abandoned mall, means owner allowed to operate there freely? |

QUOTE(zamans98 @ May 21 2024, 07:58 AM) No, CCP didn't ban, still a lot in China. It's banned since 2021. No mining and trading of crypto. Because of that many China crypto companies then choose to setup as fintech overseas like HK & SG are now began to get attention from oversea regulators and 1 by 1 getting banned also - like BinanceCCP want a profit cut , you can setup a JV between CCP (especially near hydroelectric dam) and plot your sharing chart. |

Estimate can get 100k or at least 90k usd not very bad . But at the same time they could or maybe 100% buy foreign asset outside of malaysia . LHDN take note haha.
But true once u reveal your location , u cannot sleep everyday. Thousand of valuable graphic card on the stake. Plus anytime can cause fire if not careful. For those asking why can operate in empty mall, no one care, if u can pay rental, utility and legal fee with no issue , the mall owner dont care because it is free money , if something go wrong, the mall owner will asset the damage and decide whether to help the tenant or not. Dont know why they market their own farm, since they say investor i think they need free money or simply show off ? This post has been edited by nelson969: May 21 2024, 08:36 AM |

There is really no benefit of sharing this information online.
Most likely a bait operation so breakins can happen and they can claim insurance. |

BTC is going up now, so calculations seem good
However if you just see 1 year ago, compare to electricity bill, probably losing money. Not yet consider things like rent, while a small fraction of the electricity cost, its still money. This feels more like a scam trying to get more people to buy in |

QUOTE(knwong @ May 21 2024, 11:17 AM) Crypto is speculative in nature. CCP realised this can be out of control so they do the right thing to ban it. CCP have energy problem back then when they try shut down the coal plant to support 0 carbon. But cause massive blackout and energy shortage during winter. So start to reduce the usage and ban mining is 1 of it. Ccp also cannot control the money exchange crypto in/outflow. Aka money laundering. But at the end ccp have to start back the coal plant even after ban the crypto mining. But they are better now as solar, wind turbine, EV and slow down economy absorb it. TNB shouldn't subsidies your home energy usage. Cause you're wasting the resource and doesn't make money. |

QUOTE(ozak @ May 21 2024, 11:10 AM) Well, you need to understand what opportunity cost is.Let say they are using 1 MWh of power continuously 24/7 to do all sort of mining. That power can be used at where else, maybe powering a factory and provide more job opportunity or EV charging service or other more useful activity. Then, you also need to know what indirect cost is. There is a lot of indirect cost incurred to do this sort of mining. Electricity Company like TNB might need to build more power plant just to cater mining activity. And this activity does generate lots of heat. Then, maybe one day they decided to quit this business or rug pull entirely (very likely to happen), someone is going to bear the cost. il0ve51 liked this post

But actually if the electric supply stops, the bitcoin also hilang. This is a virtual money that relies totally on electric supply. Imagine a solar storm that knocks everything out. LOL |

the dude is doing hosting service also therefore the vid.
-his rate definitely not 0.5/kwh, you will know when you go to tnb and nego. -explaining to people mining btc is easier than saying we mine kaspa, etc, doge, ltc and do alot of other things like our own pool, lp and such. gpu makes maximum 10% from what you pay to tnb on rates have peak and non peak. need to use proper strategy to make more money. -another side business from this is crypto to fiat changer |

QUOTE(rznrmolev @ May 21 2024, 12:22 PM) Well, you need to understand what opportunity cost is. if this bitcoin center takes the same electricity demand as the not in use shopping mall, then should not be an issue because power demand already allocated for.Let say they are using 1 MWh of power continuously 24/7 to do all sort of mining. In fact for TNB from a purely opportunistic profit stand point, this sudden additional demand is not bad, because infra is already there and they can supply it. But yes, to do some arbitarily complex mathematical equation just to validate transactions is a perfect waste of non renewable energy. Most of power in Malaysia comes from burning fossil fuels. So memang bodoh this thing. I think at the moment, if they do suddenly close down, all that excess demand is just going to be taken by legitimate data centers which are mushrooming at the moment. Problem really comes, if a lot more people invest in large scale bitcoin mining and that has a huge percentage draw on the national grid. Then we would have problems |
