thanks, i read this info b4, knowing they will closed on wed n sun

i read a review by someone else, he said he went at 530am, too crowded until the officer there tell him n other tourist to come back tomorrow as quota is full

i am wondering if need to travel there as early as possible, is taxi / walk the only way? cos i guess there will not be any train service so early right?

n taxi fees will be sky high right if i staying in shinjuku

thanks
*
The register start at 5am.....the tour start at 5.25am.

Your friend when there at 5.30am is too late!! the tour already start.

You must arrive tsuskiji before 5am morning. Must in the Q before register counter open. this mean you must arrive there at around 4.30 am.

4.30 am .....Taxi also hard to get !!!

I'm looking for some suggesetions on which other regions are good to visit in Japan.

thus far, have been to Kyoto, Tokyo, Hiroshima and Miyajima. Hokkaido for the flowers is next on the list.

I'm looking for scenery and since i'm travelling alone would be good if the places aren't too hard to get to.

Any thoughts? Appreciate the insights.

Been to Kyoto but didn't went to Osaka and Kobe?

Then you can plan going Osaka + Kobe. Can Try Nagoya. If want go north then Sendai // Aomori // Akita // Yamagata. Go south then Kagoshima Island Chain // Okinawa island Chain

This is why we say a Shinkansen is a Shinkansen. Cannot compare Chinese trains to them. smile.gif

"Section of high-speed railway line in China collapses"

LOL...Japan rail also got problem...but JR used money cover it (the news) only.

JR sometimes got delay due to minor problem on track also. Last year got big problem also ...The Akita Shinkanshen whole train on fire. Burn several people to dead. Driver fault...1 week later before court start he gantung sendiri already. The news only in Japan. Oversea you will never get it.

Why I Know? Because I work in Japan company...we got order Japan Newspaper

I am having the same dilemma

Buying JR pass or buying Kansai Pass (Want to cover Himeji, Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto & Nara)
*
JR rail Pass are covering whole Japan. If you didn't plan to take any of Shinkansen. You no need buy JR Rail Pass.

JR Rail Pass cost you 24,000 Yen // RM1,040 around for 7 days

If you just plan exploring Kansai Area only. Kansai Pass already enough. 4 Day Pass. 6000 Yen Kansai Pass covering all the places you list out.

oh.. thanks.. got it now..
so JR pass cannot covered all spot in tokyo, i need to find whether got any unlimited ride pass at tokyo at economic price then
*
Because Tokyo got some Private Line which not operate by JR East Company. Since you just exploring Tokyo only. Then just buy Pasmo // Suica. Ah Wang if you been to Hong Kong ...you should know they touch n go can pay bill in shop also. Same as Japan. Very useful in Tokyo.

JR Pass good on Green (Yamanote) Line and Monorail (to Haneda) in Tokyo. Metro is non-JR so not usable there. In any case, I found I could go to many interesting places via the Green Line and JR trains. See map below for JR Pass validity.

===
*
Because you always taking Shinkansen to the places you want to visit. You sure buy the JR Rail Pass. One JR Rail Pass can take up to 90% rail in whole Japan....lansung no need worry any thing. Yamanote Line , Shinjuku Line , Oedo Line etc etc.

If the person just exploring Tokyo only...spending RM1k for JR Rail Pass are Crazy.
