I’ve heard alot about choosing north or south for intermediate houses to prevent getting roasted by the sun.
What about those in corner or endlots houses? Which direction is the best? Or what other actions do you do to prevent yourself from getting roasted

It's just morning heat or evening heat. Not roasted as the trees ll do the job. Even condo I oso hav few corner units facing both east n west. Black out curtains r important in tis case.

Do they need to be large trees though? Does using solar film on windows help?

Logic wise…. The side should face east.
Cuttains and Windsow tint could help a little. But the evening sun will continue blast the wall on west side.
Tree? Yeah… house is around 25 ft…. The trees need to be much taller and closely planted before can provide the shield ba

Definitely tinted windows will help. I have tried vkool and chapalang brand b4. Expensive tint obviously worth the moolah. Chapalang is cheaper for a reason. Btw my trees are able to cover half of the 2nd floor. So 1st for is pretty cooling as the trees are there to block the sunlight fr hitting directly on the bricks. I own a corner semi-d house. My land in particular is facing the east side (gate facing south) and as my house is 'attached' to my neighbour's house, thankfully i won't have the effect of the evening (west) sun..

So does your neighbour face west side? What’s their review on facing the afternoon sun?

Errr boss I assumed u are referring to the brightness of the premise beyond the window with tint? If it's so, vkool didn't give me a prob at all. Before we proceed I need to clarify I'm not promoting any specific brand ya. Just sharing my experience. Use the best vkool tint and u will really see the result. The rest are not worth the mention if u have the budget to avoid spending unnecessarily.

Or will it be as though the whole window is much darker (like car tint)… also, how much do they charge for vkool? Do you have lobang or contact?

Boss I took the tint tat stil giv brightness to the room. Not much difference. Price wise siudai really can recall cos I did tat more than 10yrs ago 😅 I can try search for the bill. If not mistaken it was few k for 8 windows. However, the chapalang brands really make it darker la.

i have one end lot where the side facing the sunset. The lucky thing is that it is a unit next to fire break lane, so around 4pm the other side of the end lot unit already casted shadow on my wall..around 7pm no heat dy.
plus end lot or cornet lot, evening just open both slide sliding doors. let the cross ventilation take the heat out.
