2018 car.. claim once before.. now 2024 the issue came back... anyone have recommended place to get the rack fix?? I'm sure honda won't cover under warranty.. it cost 7k+ at sc if not mistaken
When time to claim warranty, ppl make noise and post everywhere. When time to use own money to fix, ppl tend to senyap je . Hardly see any post or comment on where they fix it.

Coz they are scare other people might laugh at them, nowadays steering rack can be fix even for electric type. Ask your mechanic as usually they have their own source, if no google it got few supplier is doing it locally.
My HRV back then, 2 weeks past the warranty during MCO, car never use also, pukimak Honda said no to my steering rack claim. Now after 3 years changed, problem came back. All their cars have tofu steering rack, avoid like a plague. They don't value their customer, period.

steering rack issue sticky problem
Steering rack depends on how serious and what part spoilt, they will sent to the steering repair shop/factory and quote to you. Usually at least few k (Including workmanship), but confirm cheaper than new part quote from SC

Usually is the teeth part that goes kaput. I think material too soft and not reliable. New ones made in Japan around 1.8K, Thailand 750-900, China around 400. So, if the teeth goes kaput, it's impossible to repair that section alone unless that part is sold separately. SC will quote you around 6K with workmanship included. Outside workmanship around RM300. But would be the steering rack repair pricing?

Yes it's too soft.. That's why when you get a new one try to turn slower especially when not moving and when reaching the end slow down don't knock on the limiter.
My previous original steering rack was because of those reasons.. After claim warranty and saw the bill, start to be gentle on it till now no issues.
Original use for 4 years, current (after warranty) 3 years.

The key is not hitting the end of the turn like you said. But, still these things should last a much longer time. It has became a meme on the internet instead.
The repair on the bushing seems to be a lot on Nissan/Toyota cars in Indonesia. Not sure if the Honda steering rack has the similar plastic type of bushing?
