Actually my keyboard and pen have already shipped and the iPad itself (with free engraving) is "preparing to ship".[2024] iPad Pro w M4 Chip Discussion Thread, From RM 5,299

I don't understand why anyone buys from brick and mortar stores anymore... if anything goes wrong they'll still direct you online so it's not like you gain customer support...
My keyboard and pencil have arrived. My 1Tb, Cellular, Nanoscreen M4 is "preparing to ship" |

QUOTE(junolow @ May 31 2024, 07:15 PM) Yes I did get the new pencil and keyboard (which is pretty amazing btw). My iPad though is still “about to ship”. The checkout process offered a 24 month interest free split payment too (which I don’t need so didn’t take). |

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Jun 5 2024, 07:32 AM) Almost tempted to upgrade, but I'll either change the battery on my still very good iPad Pro (5th gen) or wait until fire sale (like what they did with their iPhones) and get them for 30% off. That's the advantage of having children. You can pass your old tech to them and it's guilt free recycling. |

QUOTE(junolow @ May 31 2024, 07:15 PM) Apologies for the misinformation. I actually got the USB-C Pencil. (which I thought was a Pencil Pro when I clicked it at the Malaysian Apple Store) Am now, like you, checking every day to see if the Pencil Pro is available to order. |

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Jun 8 2024, 01:23 AM) Which is a good thing really. New Magic Keyboard is an essential upgrade over the previous. It’s a MacBook keyboard only much thinner.I got the nano texture screen on this iPad. The absence of reflections is a revelation. It’s like looking at a bright paper surface. Took a bit of getting used to but I much prefer it. Even when used indoors. When used outdoors is when the difference really becomes apparent. I got the smaller one for maximal portability. So far, I’m very impressed. |

Got my Pencil Pro at last. Finally a pencil that’s actually recognized when I attach it to this iPad. Squeeze for a contextual menu and double tap is pretty cool.

Another interesting point about the new iPad Pro is that if you opt for the cellular/WiFi version you do NOT have a SIM card slot. You only have a eSim. And if you search for wireless providers on Settings>Mobile Data>SelectNetworkProvider you do NOT get any Malaysian networks. You get GigSky and RedteaGO. Which kinda sucks cos on calling Maxis, they need me to go into a physical Maxis store to get an eSim.

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 12 2024, 09:45 AM) I think it is normal. Becos getting a sim in bolehland or lion city requires registration so u cannot just simply get an esim plan like in US by signing up in the ipad itself. … but you CAN get an AppleWatch plan by signing up on the Watch app on your iPhone. I did on Maxis |
