The KTM network in Johor macam so hard to implement and deliver the ETS project. Since my primary school time I had been told we would be upgraded with double track ETS but until now I am already in my early thirties it is still 'coming soon.'

Another government source told ST that the current delay is due to YTL Construction’s inability to complete the technical aspects of the electric feeder line at Segamat’s Genuang Railway Station, which has prevented the overhead line from being energised.

A new deadline has been set for April 2025. YTL Corporation and the Ministry of Transport (MOT) did not respond to ST queries about the delays.

Railways track on southern MY go through inland. Not the shortest route or best route.. If there is a detour track said Kluang, Yong Peng, Batu Pahat, Muar Melaka, Port Dickson, KL. It would link up major population cities.i think economy will boom.

It already goes through Kluang, but not the rest. Can't be helped....this track is from British era...can't change unless want to build an entirely new route....i guess that's what the proposed HSR is supposed to do.

ETS train frequency is still rubbish...spend so many billions but only 2 trains per day. Northern side also have only 5 trips.per day.

It really shows how unattractive the train service is for most Malaysians to ditch their cars.
During the Raya holiday season how many lives are taken on the road, because of so many rubbish drivers on the roads, yet people still have no choice but to drive thanks to the still-growing public transportation services.

Imagine many of us can spend more time off when riding the train Balik Kampung.... and reach Kampung with bus served as the first/last mile connectivity, practically even as a family of 5-6 people this is actually workable compared to driving which risks getting killed by incompetent drivers, who knows?

Why ETS train is so slow?

KL to Butterworth, just about 300km needs 4 hours. Sitting onboard for 4 hours is really long waiting and bored.

If you drive, also taking 4 hours.
